A method for monitoring operation status of an electric motor in real time, including: reading a drive application signal of the electric motor; selecting a frequency to be observed; analyzing the frequency to be observed to obtain a spectrum thereof; analyzing the spectrum; and detecting the operation status of the electric motor on the basis of the spectrum analysis.

Method and system for monitoring operation status of an electric motor in real time

Examples include a method for controlling a variable speed drive of an electric motor. The variable speed drive is connected to a torque sensor for sensing a torque supplied by the electric motor. The method includes performing, by the electric motor, a predetermined torque sequence. The method also includes measuring, by the torque sensor, a measured torque sequence corresponding to the predetermined torque sequence, and comparing the predetermined torque sequence and the measured torque sequence. As a result of the comparison, one or more torque sensor transfer function parameters are determined.

Variable speed drive and torque sensor

A method for determining a resonance frequency of a mechanical system including an electric motor coupled to a mechanical load. The method includes starting the motor by providing a supply voltage using a motor controller, and once the electric motor is running at a predefined target rotational speed, applying a first excitation signal comprising a voltage pulse superimposed to the supply voltage. The method further includes measuring a mechanical response of the mechanical system, using a measurement system coupled to the motor, and analyzing the measured response, to determine at least one resonance frequency of the mechanical system.

Examples include a method for controlling a synchronous motor using a variable speed drive. The motor includes a permanent magnet rotor generating a magnetic flux. The method includes applying a predefined electrical command signal to the motor and estimating a motor speed in response to the applying of the predefined electrical command signal. The method also includes reaching a desired estimated motor speed and, in response to reaching the desired estimated motor speed, estimating a parameter related to the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet rotor. The method further includes recording the estimated parameter.

Examples include a method for controlling an electric motor using a variable speed drive based on input parameters of the variable speed drive. The method uses initial estimated parameters of an electric motor and measurements of the variable speed drive at operating points of the electric motor to determine accurate input parameters of the variable speed drive.

Electric motor control

A method for configuring a variable speed drive in charge of power supply of an electric motor. The method comprises the application of a sequence of motor voltages to the electric motor by the variable speed drive and the obtaining, in parallel, of measurements of motor current. The method then determines a feature of the electric motor on the basis of the measurements of motor current and determines a type of electric motor at least as a function of the feature. The variable speed drive is then set up on the basis of the determined type of electric motor.

A method for identifying a resistance value (R) of the rotor of an electric induction motor (M), including determining a reference voltage (u) on the basis of a chosen value ({circumflex over (R)}) for the resistance of the rotor of the electric motor, applying a control voltage (u) to the electric motor, the control voltage being determined on the basis of the reference voltage (u), acquiring the values of the currents (i, i, i) measured in the three phases of the electric motor, so as to deduce a stator current (i) of the electric motor therefrom, comparing the obtained stator current (i) with a predetermined value (i), correcting the value ({circumflex over (R)}) used for the resistance (R) of the rotor and applying steps a) to d) until obtaining a stator current (i) equal to the predetermined value.

Method for identifying the electrical resistance of the rotor of an electric motor

A method identifies magnetic saturation parameters of an asynchronous electric motor. The method consists in a monitoring and identification sequence including one or several iterations. The method includes applying at the input of the control law of a reference voltage or a reference flux trajectory or a reference range in order to obtain a magnetization current, building a real profile of magnetic saturation including estimate magnetization flux and measures magnetization current, and determining magnetic saturation parameters corresponding to the real profile already obtained.

A control method implemented in a variable speed drive for starting a synchronous electric motor, said method including the application, as input, of a reference speed according to a predefined speed profile, the determination of a reference position based on the reference speed that is applied as input, the determination of a voltage in a rotating frame of reference, based on the reference speed that is applied as input, the determination of control voltages to be applied to each output phase depending, on the one hand, on the determined reference position and, on the other hand, on said voltage determined in the rotating frame of reference, and the application of the control voltages to each output phase to obtain an alignment of the position of the rotor of said motor with the reference position.
