Various embodiments disclosed herein are related to a non-transitory computer readable storage medium. In some embodiments, the medium includes instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to determine, in a cluster of host machines, a priority level of telemetry data collected in the cluster, at least based on a data type of the telemetry data and a tag and store the telemetry data in a storage in the cluster. In some embodiments, a quality-of-service (QoS) is associated with the priority level. In some embodiments, the storage is associated with the priority level. In some embodiments, the medium includes the instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to send the telemetry data from the storage to a server in accordance with the QoS, wherein the server is separate from the cluster.

System and method to provide priority based quality of service for telemetry data

Various embodiments disclosed herein are related to an apparatus. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a processor and a memory. In some embodiments, the memory includes programmed instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to receive an indication that an entity state of an entity has been updated, and, in response to receiving the indication that the entity has been updated, determine that the number of updates of the entity within a time period exceeds a threshold. In some embodiments, the memory includes the programmed instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to determine that the time period has expired, and, in response to determining that the time period has expired, collect the entity state of the entity.

The agent collects telemetry data from data sources associated with the telemetry system. The system and method also include determining that a number of times the agent has terminated is greater than a predetermined threshold, restarting the agent after a first predetermined delay in response to exceeding the predetermined threshold, and determining that the agent terminated again within a predetermined time period upon restarting. The system and method further include updating a configuration file of the agent in response to the termination within the predetermined time period and restarting the agent with the updated configuration file. The updating is based upon an agent termination record of the agent.

System and method for managing telemetry data and agents in a telemetry system

A method for upgrading a file system in a data storage environment is provided. A storage system identifies a set of boundaries of one or more sets of hard disks based on a first block management data structure (BMDS), where the first BMDS includes information describing a storage volume representing the one or more sets of hard disks. For each identified boundary, the storage system identifies a data block range of a set of data blocks, where the data block range includes metadata of one set of hard disks that is stored on the set of data blocks. Further, the storage system concurrently generates a plurality of second BMDSs, each of the second BMDS corresponding to one of the sets of hard disks, including simultaneously retrieving metadata of the sets of hard disks, where the second BMDSs are constructed based on the retrieved metadata, representing an upgraded file system.
