Systems and methods for an energy storage device having a port, a motion sensor, an ambient light sensor, a status indicator having one or more segments, and one or more processors coupled to memory. The energy storage device can determine a state of the energy storage device, detect a movement, and detect an ambient light level. The energy storage device can illuminate a status indicator. The processors determine the brightness for the number of the one or more segments based on the ambient light level, and determine the number of the segments to illuminate based on the state of the energy storage device.

A battery system for an electric vehicle includes a fixed cover, and a removable cover arranged over battery modules and a high voltage distribution system. The battery system includes a busbar arranged at least partially over a region of the battery modules and under the removable cover. The busbar includes a fixed section and a movable section, or a hinge, such that the busbar can be repositioned out of the way. The support tray includes a link between the fixed and movable sections. Floating fasteners, allowing at least one of radial float and axial float are used to secure the link to the support tray, thereby avoiding safety hazards and reducing the potential for short circuits in high voltage distribution systems or conductors thereof. The floating fasteners include a head, a neck, an engagement section, and a washer, which prevent removal from a component once installed.

Aspects of the subject disclosure relate to various features of a battery subassembly, such as a battery module. The battery subassembly may be implemented in an electric vehicle or in a building. The battery subassembly may include a potting dam as described herein.

An electrically conductive member can include a first opening and a second opening. The first opening of the electrically conductive member can engage a first member of a cell carrier to at least partially align the electrically conductive member with the cell carrier. The second opening of the electrically conductive member can engage with a second member of the cell carrier for coupling the electrically conductive member with the cell carrier.

An apparatus can include a cell carrier that defines a first engagement feature and a second engagement feature. The first engagement feature and the second engagement feature can be configured to engage with a housing. The cell carrier can be configured to couple with the housing via at least one of the first engagement feature or the second engagement feature.

Illustrative examples of an apparatus may be directed to a mounting apparatus for a device. The apparatus may include a support comprising a plurality of mounting apertures aligned on a mounting plane. The support may be configured to be mounted to a wall member such that the mounting plane is parallel and adjacent to the wall member. The support may also include a load bearing feature extending away from the mounting plane to support the device. The support may further include a blind guide configured to guide a device tab extending downward into a receiving space defined by the blind guide.
