Systems and processes for providing, via an electronic device, suggested user actions. The suggested actions are provided in response to detecting an occurrence of a predefined event occurring in the user's day. The occurrence of the anchor is encoded in signals generated by the electronic device. The occurrence of the anchor is detectable via monitoring and analysis of electronic signals. Based on the user's previous interactions with the device, the occurrence of the anchor is indicative of user behavior and/or action taken in response to the anchor. Machine learning (ML) is employed to train an anchor model to associate actions taken in response to anchor occurrences. The trained anchor model is employed to detect anchors and provide suggested actions in response to the detected anchor occurrence. The suggested action is based on a type of anchor occurrence and contextual conditions of the anchor occurrences.

Suggesting executable actions in response to detecting events

The subject technology provides for temporal reasoning. A system can receive contextual information from a plurality of data sources on an electronic device. The system can identify a predetermined pattern that is indicative of a particular activity in the contextual information within a time interval. The system can determine a confidence score for the particular activity based at least in part on one or more confidence values of a corresponding activity signal associated with the time interval. The system can update a graph-based data structure by adding a representation of the particular activity as a node to the graph-based data structure when a confidence score of the particular activity exceeds a confidence threshold. The system also can provide, for display on the electronic device, a user activity interface that provides access to an indexed collection of events organized by activity type by querying the graph-based data structure.

Temporal reasoning

Systems and processes for operating an intelligent automated assistant are provided. In one example, a plurality of data items selected by a user are received, wherein a plurality of confidence values corresponding to the plurality of data items are identified. The plurality of data items is ordered. The first data item is displayed, and updated context information associated with the electronic device is received. An update to the plurality of confidence values is detected, wherein the updated plurality of confidence values includes a third confidence value associated with a third data item of the plurality of ordered data items. In accordance with a determination that the third confidence value is higher than a first confidence value of the first data item, an order of the plurality of ordered data items is modified, and the third data item of the plurality of ordered data items is displayed.
