A system for monitoring an area is provided. The system comprises a plurality of stationary sensors that can sense events and comprise a wireless output signal broadcast capability for transmitting output signals from the stationary sensors by a wireless communication protocol. The system further comprises gateway units connected to a wired backbone network and configured to transmit information relating to the output signals of the stationary sensors by a wired communication protocol, and a base station connected to the wired backbone network configured to receive the information transmitted by the gateway units on the wired communication protocol and to time-stamp the events signaled by the stationary sensors. The monitored area comprises sub-areas, and a group of stationary sensors are assigned to each of the sub-areas and to a gateway unit for directly receiving the output signals from the group of stationary sensors.

Monitoring system and method

A telecare and/or telehealth communication method is described. The method comprises providing predetermined voice messages configured to ask questions to or to give instructions to an assisted individual, providing an algorithm configured to communicate with the assisted individual, and communicating at least one of the predetermined voice messages configured to ask questions to or to give instructions to the assisted individual. The method further comprises analyzing a responsiveness and/or compliance characteristics of the assisted individual, and providing the assisted individual with voice messages in a form most acceptable and effective for the assisted individual on the basis of the analyzed responsiveness and/or the analyzed compliance characteristics.

Telecare and/or telehealth communication method and system

A bulb lighting device is provided. The bulb device comprises a base, a driving electronics unit comprising a power supply electrically connected to the base and a battery connected to the power supply through a battery management unit, and a communication unit comprising a communication interface and at least one of a wireless unit and a power line unit, wherein the communication unit is electrically connected to the driving electronics unit. The bulb device further comprises an LED module having LED flight sources in an LED array together with an electric driving LED controller arranged inside an at least partially transparent envelope, wherein the LED module is electrically connected to the driving electronics unit, and a motion detector arranged inside the envelope and electrically connected to the driving electronics unit, wherein an output signal of the motion detector is forwarded outside of the bulb lighting device through the communication unit.
