A projection image apparatus includes an image display element that generate image light according to an input image signal, a transparent parallel plain plate that is swing-drive-controlled about one or two of two axes, the transparent parallel plain plate changing an optical path of the image light to perform pixel shift about the one or two of the two axes, a resampling processor that performs resampling process for the input image signal, and a controller that selectively executes one of the following three actions in response to a number of pixels and a frame rate of the input image signal, (1) to avoid the resampling process and the pixel shift, (2) the resampling process related to pixel shift about the one axis and pixel shift about the one axis, and (3) the resampling process related to pixel shift about the two axes and pixel shift about the two axes.

Light source modulation circuit, light source modulation method, and projector apparatus

The projection image display apparatus includes a display element that emits image light generated by modulating light from a light source based, a pixel-shifter that shifts a pixel of a projected image by changing an optical path of the image light, a resampling circuit, a motion-interpolation image processing circuit, and a pixel-shift controller. The resampling circuit generates a plurality of sub-frame image signals having a resolution of the display element, by resampling an image signal having a resolution of the projected image. The motion-interpolation image processing circuit provides a motion-interpolation image process to the sub-frame image signals. The pixel-shift controller receives the sub-frame image signals having undergone the motion-interpolation image process. The pixel-shift controller drives the display element and the pixel shifter at a given timing based on the sub-frame image having undergone the motion-interpolation image process, and then displays the projected image, which involves pixel-shift, on a screen.

Projection image display apparatus

The optical path changing device of the present disclosure includes an optical member having a parallel plate face for changing an optical path, and first, second, and third actuators. The first, the second, and the third actuators are connected with the optical member at first, second, and third vertices of a triangle imaginarily drawn on a plane parallel to the parallel plate face of the optical member. The first, the second, and the third actuators drive the optical member forward and backward in a normal direction of the parallel plate face at the first, the second, and the third vertices serving as points of load. The optical member has a center of gravity within the triangle when seen from the normal direction.

Optical path changing device and projection image display apparatus

A video projection device according to this disclosure is provided with a splitter having a first region including a plurality of segments and a second region including at least one segment and configured to split a light flux emitted from a light source into a plurality of light of colors in a time-divisional manner by having the light flux enter into each one of the segments, and a video display element configured to modulate the light of the colors based on a image signal to be input and to form a image, and a controller configured to calculate a light intensity and to control the light source based on a result of the calculation.
