A resin composition is described that is excellent in strength, impact resistance, heat resistance and moldability, while further allowing for a reduction in the amount of COneeded for its production. The present invention is a thermoplastic resin composition which is obtained by adding a specific modified vinyl copolymer having a specific intrinsic viscosity to a composition comprising a styrene-based resin and a polyamide resin. The thermoplastic resin composition has excellent flowability and has a far better surface appearance than conventional ones while satisfactorily retaining rigidity, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and impact resistance at room and low temperatures.

A flame-retardant resin composition comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a styrenic resin, (B) 1 to 30 parts by weight of a phosphate ester compound and (C) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a phosphate ester compound having a specific structure, and amolding product formed of the same impart a high flame retardance to the styrenic resin without using an organic halogen compound, and are also excellent in mechanical properties, impact resistance and moldability.
