Copolymers are disclosed of lower alpha-olefins and HALS-containing monomers, typically 1-(10-undecenyl)-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine. They may be used for light or heat stabilizing, by themselves or in blends with other polymers.

Phenol compound and use thereof

A molded product for colored food, comprising (A) 0.01 to 1 part by weight of a hindered amine type light stabilizer and (B) 0.01 to 0.5 part by weight of an aromatic phosphite type and/or an aromatic phosphonite type antioxidant formulated per 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin containing substantially no phenol type antioxidant is disclosed. The molded product for colored food made of a polyolefin and having the composition of the present invention undergoes no discoloration even when contacted with a colored food for a long time and is also excellent in odor characteristic, mechanical characteristics and stability, etc., and therefore excellent as molded product for colored food, particularly sealed vessel, vessel for microwave oven heating.

Phosphite compounds represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 stands for a tertiary hydrocarbyl group, R.sup.2 stands for an alkyl group, an aralkyl group which may be substituted, an aryl group or a cycloalkyl group and n stands for 0, 1 or 2. Such compounds possess stabilizing action against organic materials, particularly antioxidant action, and are useful as antioxidants for preventing deterioration by oxidation of organic materials.

Phosphite compounds

Improvement in the weathering properties of polyolefin resins has been achieved by intimate compositions comprising Ziegler-process crystalline polyolefins containing halogen-magnesium compounds as catalytic carrier residues, and organic phosphorus compounds such as organic phosphites. The compositions may contain auxiliary components normally used in polyolefin resins; antioxidants and/or ultraviolet absorbers are especially useful.
