A braking assist control device for a vehicle including a detector and a braking assist control device is provided. The braking assist control device includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire information on an ambient environment of an own vehicle from the detector, and a control unit configured to cause the braking assist device to perform intersection entry prevention assist in a case where it is determined, using the acquired information on the ambient environment, that the own vehicle is approaching an intersection and an own lane in which the own vehicle is traveling is a non-priority lane with respect to an intersecting lane.

A control device for a vehicle includes a camera sensor and an ECU. The ECU defines a specified area based on a position of a stationary object when the recognized objects include the stationary object. The ECU performs first driving support for reducing a possibility of a collision between a moving body and the host vehicle when the recognized objects include the moving body which is positioned within the specified area. Boundary lines partitioning the specified area include a first traveling direction boundary line extending in a traveling direction of the host vehicle. An inside of the specified area is a side on which the stationary object is positioned with respect to the first traveling direction boundary line. The first traveling direction boundary line is set on a side opposite to the stationary object across a reference line set based on a predicted course of the host vehicle.

A vehicle control apparatus activates a safety device for avoiding a collision of an own vehicle with a target or reducing damage caused by the collision. The vehicle control apparatus sets an activation condition for the safety device. The vehicle control apparatus determines whether each of a plurality of correction conditions for the activation condition is satisfied. The vehicle control apparatus determines whether to activate the safety device on the basis of the activation condition. The vehicle control apparatus sets the activation condition by correcting a reference condition on the basis of a correction value for a satisfied correction condition, and correcting the corrected reference condition on the basis of a correction value (destination correction value) for each destination.

A vehicle control system includes an electronic control unit configured to: recognize at least one object; determine a risk of the at least one object entering a course of the host vehicle; and perform, when the at least one object enters a target area set in front of the host vehicle with respect to the host vehicle, driving support. The electronic control unit is configured to determine whether the risk is high or low based on a relative relationship between two or more objects, and the electronic control unit is configured to set the target area to be larger when it is determined that the risk is high than when it is determined that the risk is low.

The apparatus includes a corrector that performs, based on a zone-to-zone movement history of the recognized target object among the determination zones, a correction task including at least one of a first changing task of changing the width of an activation region, and a second changing task of changing the activation timing. The apparatus includes an activation determiner that activates a safety device upon determining that a position of the recognized target object is within the activation region and that the time to collision is smaller than the activation timing.

Vehicle control method and apparatus

A vehicle control apparatus calculates a position at which a distance between a pedestrian and the own vehicle becomes zero in a travelling direction of the own vehicle as a predicted collision position. The vehicle control apparatus determines whether the pedestrian is crossing a course of the own vehicle. The vehicle control apparatus sets a limit value indicating a width of a determination region in a lateral direction perpendicular to the travelling direction of the own vehicle, and determines whether the pedestrian is present within the course of the own vehicle based on the predicted collision position and the limit value. The vehicle control apparatus sets one of a left and right limit values of a determination region in which the predicted collision position is present in the travelling direction of the own vehicle to be greater than the limit value of the other.

An ECU drives a brake device of a vehicle to reduce a collision risk with an object or collision damage of the vehicle. The ECU acquires position information of the object based on a combination of data transmitted from a radar device and an in-vehicle camera. The ECU performs a first judgment to detect whether to drive the brake device based on the acquired position information of the object. The ECU further performs a second judgment to detect whether to drive the brake device based on another calculation process. The ECU diagnoses the result of the first judgment. When the result of the first judgment is correct, an operation limitation part in the ECU transmits the result of the first judgment to the control processing part to drive the brake device, and when incorrect, prohibits the transmission of the result of the first judgment to the control processing part.

Vehicle control device and vehicle control method

A vehicle control apparatus is provided which includes position detecting means for detecting a position of a detected target using reflection information derived from a radar device, first determining means for determining whether the detected target is expected to be an obstacle not based on an intensity of a received reflected wave contained in the reflection information, and second determining means for determining whether an obstacle exists at the position, as detected by the position detecting means, or not using the image information. When the second determining means determines that the obstacle exists, and when a distance between an own vehicle and the detected target is smaller than a given threshold value, the detected target is determined as a target with which collision should be avoided regardless of a result of determination made by the first determining means. Alternatively, when the distance to the detected target is greater than the given threshold value, and when the first determining means determines that the detected target is expected to be the obstacle, the detected target is determined as a target with which collision should be avoided. This minimizes an unnecessary operation in control to avoid the collision when it is determined whether the target is an obstacle to movement of the own vehicle or not.

A vehicle control device obtains, a relative distance of an object to an own vehicle in the travel direction of the own vehicle and a lateral position that is a relative location of the object to the own vehicle in a lateral direction orthogonal to the travel direction. The vehicle control device sets a limit value indicating the lateral width of a determination region for determining whether or not the object is present in the traveling path of the own vehicle. The vehicle control device determines, on the basis of the lateral position of the object and the limit value for the determination region, whether or not the object is present in the traveling path of the own vehicle. The vehicle control device extends the determination region width by correcting the limit value when the object is a vehicle and the relative distance is less than a predetermined distance.

When it is determined by an acceleration condition determiner that an own vehicle is accelerating, a collision prediction time calculator calculates a collision prediction time in accordance with a relative speed and a relative distance, and a timing setter sets an activation timing to a reference timing. When it is determined by the acceleration condition determiner that the own vehicle is not accelerating, and by a preceding object determiner that an object is not a preceding object, the collision prediction time calculator calculates the collision prediction time in accordance with the relative speed, a relative acceleration, and the relative distance, and the timing setter is configured to set the activation timing to be larger than the reference timing.

A vehicle control apparatus includes a collision time calculation section configured to calculate a time-to-collision; an activation region setting section configured to set an activation region to an area present ahead of and in the travelling direction of an own vehicle, the activation region having a predetermined width in a lateral direction that is orthogonal to a path of the own vehicle; a timing setting section configured to set timing activating a safety device; a determination region setting section configured to set a determination region to an area present diagonally ahead of and in the travelling direction of the own vehicle, the determination region having a predetermined width in the lateral direction; a timer section configured to measure a time for which a target stays in the determination region; a correction section configured to perform, in a case where the time measured by the timer section is long, a process for decreasing the width of the activation region and a process for decreasing activation timing; and an activation determination section configured to activate the safety device in a case where a position of the target is in the activation region and the time-to-collision falls below the activation timing.

A vehicle control apparatus accumulates a history of timings of avoidance operations performed by a driver of with respect to objects that are at prescribed distances ahead of a host vehicle, and calculates a distribution of the timings of the avoidance operations. Based on the distribution of the timings of the avoidance operations, the vehicle control apparatus sets the output timing of a warning to the driver such that interference does not occur between the avoidance operation and an avoidance operation that is actually performed by the driver, and furthermore the vehicle control apparatus judges the risk of a collision with the host vehicle, with the judgement based on the position of an object that is ahead of the host vehicle, and changes the output timing of the warning based on results of the judgement of risk.
