The present disclosure includes: a magnetic member configured to cause a large Barkhausen effect; a power generation coil disposed so as to be wound around the magnetic member; and soft magnetic members formed at both end portions of the magnetic member so as to be in contact with the magnetic member and so as to press the magnetic member. Consequently, evenness of a magnetic flux density inside the magnetic member is increased, and the large Barkhausen effect is stably caused, whereby a highly stable power generation element is obtained.

A semiconductor laser excitation solid-state laser comprises: a planar waveguide-type solid-state laser element which is disposed on a solid-state laser substrate; an LD array; and a sub-mount substrate on which joining layers of two different thicknesses are formed on the same plane; wherein the planar waveguide-type solid-state laser element is joined to the sub-mount substrate on the surface on the opposite side of a surface on which the solid-state laser substrate is mounted, via a joining layer of one of the thicknesses out of the joining layers of the two different thicknesses, and the LD array is joined to the sub-mount substrate on the surface on a light-emitting layer side, via another joining layer of the other thickness out of the joining layers of the two different thicknesses.

Semiconductor laser excitation solid-state laser

A square-wave signal generator circuit for generating a rectangular waveform signal particularly for application to the field coil of an electromagnetic flow meter. A coil excitation current from a direct current source is switched to provide a current flow in alternate directions through the field coil. During the transient time of the coil excitation current following the switching operation, a higher output voltage from the source is used to shorten the current rise and fall times while a lower voltage from the source is used during a steady state time of the excitation current to minimize power losses. A switching circuit using a switching transistor is used to select the higher voltage while a back-biased diode is used to immediately introduce the lower voltage when the excitation current has reached a steady state. A voltage comparator is used to compare the voltage generated by the excitation current with a reference voltage to produce an output signal for operating the switching transistor between its on and off states during the transient and steady state current conditions, respectively.
