The present disclosure relates to optical system and display apparatus. An optical system guides a light beam from a display element to an exit pupil. The optical system includes a first optical element including a transmission surface, a reflection-transmission surface, and a reflection surface, and a negative lens including a concave surface on an exit pupil side. The light beam from the display element heads toward the exit pupil via the transmission surface, the reflection-transmission surface, the reflection surface, the reflection-transmission surface, and the negative lens in this order. A storage device manages data stored in a storage drive in a plurality of logical hierarchies. The plurality of logical hierarchies include a writing hierarchy above a hierarchy of a parity group including a plurality of storage drives. The storage device writes received host data in a free area in the writing hierarchy. In the data recovery process for replacing a failure storage drive with a new storage drive, the storage device executes the garbage collection process on a first logical area in the writing hierarchy associated with the first parity group including the failure storage drive. One or a plurality of physical storage devices that provide a physical storage area are connected to first and second computers. When the address correspondence relationship indicated by the copied metadata portion is changed during copying of the metadata, the first computer updates the metadata portion and copies the metadata portion to the second computer.

A scale-out storage system includes a plurality of computer nodes each of which has a memory and a processor, and a storage apparatus. The computer nodes have one or more redundancy groups each of which is a group for metadata protection. Each of the one or more redundancy groups includes two or more of the computer nodes including a primary node being a primary computer node and a secondary node being a secondary computer node, and a failover is performed from the primary node to the secondary node. The memory of the primary node has stored therein metadata related to the redundancy group and to be accessed for control. This invention provides a storage system enabling it to properly rebuild a storage device involved in failure. In the storage system, a controller repairs data for which an access request has been issued, returns a reply to the source of the access request, and stores the repaired data. As regards data for which access is not requested, the controller executes rebuilding of storage regions corresponding to rebuild management units in priority-based order and changes priority for executing the rebuilding, based on access frequencies for a first period and access frequencies for a second period that is shorter than the first period.
