Provided is a motor including: a rotor having a rotor core provided with a magnet insertion hole and a permanent magnet disposed in the magnet insertion hole, the rotor rotating about its axis; a stator facing the rotor; and a fixing member fixing the permanent magnet in the magnet insertion hole. The fixing member includes a protrusion fitted in a gap between the rotor core and the permanent magnet.

Motor and electric device

The system includes an electronic device connected to a cord that can be unreeled and reeled in by a cord reel, and a management apparatus that can communicate with the electronic device. In the system, the cord-reel-use detector is disposed in the electronic device, and detects use of the cord reel. The memory is disposed in the electronic device and/or the management apparatus, and stores an amount of use of the cord reel. The controller is disposed in the electronic device and/or the management apparatus, and determines the use of the cord reel on the basis of the detection made by the cord-reel-use detector. The controller changes the amount of use of the cord reel in response to the electronic device having been replaced with another electronic device or in response to the cord reel having been replaced with another cord reel.

An electric motor includes a rotor having a rotary shaft, a pair of ball bearings for supporting the rotary shaft, and two brackets having bearing housings for holding the ball bearings. The motor further includes a washer between one of the ball bearings and an end wall of one of the bearing housings. The washer includes a plurality of claws. The washer is configured including a ring-shaped yoke and the claws the center parts of which are fastened to the yoke. These claws are configured to be bent in a U-shape, and the center part of the U-shape is fastened to the yoke.

Disclosed is an electric blower having a stator, a rotor, a bracket, a rotary fan, an air guide and a fan case. The air guide comprises a partition plate, a diffuser disposed around outer periphery of the rotary fan in the air guide, a partition-plate sloped portion and a guide vane. The fan case has a fan-facing portion, a fan case shoulder bent at the outermost part of the fan-facing portion, and a cylindrical portion extending cylindrically in an axial direction from the fan case shoulder. The fan case shoulder is so bent that it forms substantially a right angle.

An electric blower includes a motor having a stator on which field windings are wound, a rotor facing the stator, and a bracket covering the stator and the rotor. The electric blower further includes a fan mounted to a shaft coupled to the rotor, and an air guide having a diffuser provided to the outer circumference of the fan and formed of a plurality of stationary blades adjacent to each other. The electric blower still includes a fan case having openings at its outer circumference for discharging a part of the air having passed the diffuser to the outside, and protrusions having a brim for covering a part of the openings. The foregoing structure allows the air blower to cool the motor with airflow generated by the fan.

Disclosed is a photodiode array which includes a plurality of p-i-n photodiodes arrayed on a semi-insulative semiconductor substrate, each photodiode including an n-type semiconductor layer grown on the substrate, an i-type semiconductor layer grown on the n-type semiconductor layer, a p-type semiconductor layer grown on the i-type semiconductor layer, an n-type electrode provided on the n-type semiconductor layer in a region exposed by partially removing the p-type semiconductor layer and the i-type semiconductor layer, and a p-type electrode provided on the p-type semiconductor layer. A trench is provided between the two adjacent photodiodes by partially removing the p-type semiconductor layer, the i-type semiconductor layer, and the n-type semiconductor layer. Consequently, the size and pitch of the photodiodes can be decreased and crosstalk between the photodiodes can be reduced. Also disclosed is an optical receiver device including the photodiode array.

Photodiode array and optical receiver device including the same

An optical transceiver module is comprised of a mount substrate, a transmitting semiconductor laser, a receiving photodiode, a communicating hole, and a first filter. The mount substrate is provided so as to intersect with a predetermined axis X and has first and second principal surfaces facing each other. The transmitting semiconductor laser is mounted on the first principal surface and is configured to emit light of a first wavelength. The receiving photodiode is mounted on the predetermined axis X and on the second principal surface and is configured to receiving light of a second wavelength. The communicating hole is provided in a region of the mount substrate where the receiving photodiode is mounted, and makes the first and second principal surfaces communicate with each other.

Optical transceiver modules

An optical communications module in which electrical crosstalk is reduced. The term 'optical communications module' represents a surface-mounting-type optical tranceiver, transmitter, or receiver module. The optical communications module has a following structure. (a) An Si substrate carries at least one signal-transmitting section comprising an LD, at least one signal-receiving section comprising a PD, or both together with other components. (b) An insulating substrate is bonded to the back face of the Si substrate. (c) A separating groove separates the Si substrate along the or each boundary line between the sections in order to prevent an AC current flowing through the Si substrate. To attain this object, the separating groove is provided from the top surface of the Si substrate to some midpoint of the insulating substrate. This structure reduces the electrical crosstalk between the signal-transmitting section and the signal-receiving section, between the signal-transmitting sections, and between the signal-receiving sections.

Optical communications module and method for producing the module

An optical receiver comprises (a) an optical fiber, (b) a rear-illuminated type PD for receiving incoming light emerging from the optical fiber, (c) a submount supporting the PD, (d) a coaxial type package housing the submount, and (e) a preamplifier IC for amplifying electric signals from the PD. In particular, the submount is provided with a reflecting face for reflecting the incoming light so that the light can enter the PD. The submount may be provided with an optical path-forming groove having at least one reflecting face for introducing and reflecting the incoming light so that the light can enter the light-receiving portion of the PD mounted on the submount. This structure enables the production of an optical receiver most suitable for high-speed response and excellent in productivity. A method of producing the optical receiver is also offered.

Optical receiver and method of producing the optical receiver

An optical communication module having a roughened bottom of a silicon bench for suppressing optical crosstalk. The roughened bottom prevents stray laser beams from reflecting toward a photodiode. The roughened bottom is further covered with a photoabsorbent resin, pigment or adhesive for absorbing the stray laser beams at a bottom. A cladding of a lightwaveguide are narrowed and are painted with a photoabsorbent resin, pigment or adhesive for absorbing horizontally stray beams propagating in the cladding.

Optical communication module

A semiconductor light receiving element has a semiconductor portion. The semiconductor portion includes a substrate, a light detecting portion, and a filter portion. The substrate, the light detecting portion, and the filter portion are provided sequentially in a direction of a predetermined axis. The light detecting portion has a light absorbing layer including a III-V semiconductor layer, a window layer including a III-V semiconductor layer, and an anode semiconductor region. The light absorbing layer is an n or i conductivity type semiconductor layer. The light absorbing layer is provided between a III-V semiconductor layer and the window layer. The light detecting portion is provided on one face of the semiconductor substrate with the III-V semiconductor layer interposed therebetween. The filter portion includes InGaAsP semiconductor layers and III-V semiconductor layers.
