A joint structure for antiseismic reinforcement includes at least one structural member having a longitudinal axis and at least one antiseismic reinforcement member. Each antiseismic reinforcement member has a longitudinal axis located in a plane that is generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the structural member. The longitudinal axis of the antiseismic reinforcement member is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the structural member. A metal fitting connects each of the antiseismic reinforcement members to the structural member. The metal fitting is not fixed to the structural member. At least one constraining member is fixed to the structural member close to or abutting an edge portion of the metal fitting. The constraining member bears a force applied to the metal fitting in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the structural member.

Joint structure for antiseismic reinforcement

A column-and-beam join structure comprises connecting the column and beam with a pair of split tees. At least one split tee has a web with a portion of the web having a reduced cross-sectional area. The web with the reduced cross-sectional area is located between a flange of the beam and a buckling restraint. The buckling restraint is connected to the flange of the beam with bolts. The sides of the bolts are in the proximity to the side surface of the portion of the web of the split tee having the reduced cross-sectional area. Annular members may be arranged surrounding portions of the bolts that are in proximity to the side surface of the portion of the web having the reduced cross-sectional area.

Column-and-beam join structure

An acrylic adhesive composition comprising an acrylic polymer as a base resin and a modified cyclopentadiene resin having a softening point of at least 60.degree. C. obtained by copolymerizing (a) 85 to 50% by weight of a cyclopentadiene monomer and (b) 15 to 50% by weight of a polar vinyl monomer or a hydrogenation product of said cyclopentadiene resin as a tackifier.

A crosslinkable adhesive composition comprising (a) a thermoplastic elastomer of the general formula (A--B).sub.n or (A--B).sub.n-l - A wherein A represents a block of a monovinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer, B represents a block of a conjugated diolefin polymer, and n represents an integer of from 2 to 10, (b) a tackifying resin and (c) a cross-linkable tackifying resin, said tackifying resin (c) being an ester formed between a hydroxyl-containing tackifying resin and acrylic or methacrylic acid. Preferably, the composition comprises 100 parts by weight of the component (a), 40 to 200 parts by weight of the component (b), and 5 to 55 parts by weight of the component (c).

Crosslinkable adhesive composition

An epoxy resin composition comprising (a) a cyclopentadiene-type hydrocarbon resin having a hydroxyl value of 100 to 300 obtained by copolymerizing a cyclopentadiene-type monomer and a hydroxyl-containing monolefinic monomer at elevated temperatures, (b) a polyol selected from the group consisting of epoxy resins containing at least two hydroxyl groups in the molecule and epoxy resin derivatives containing at least two hydroxyl groups in the molecule and obtained by the reaction of epoxy resins with alkanolamines, and (c) an isocyanate-type curing agent. The compositions have improved low temperature curability, acid resistance and water resistance while retaining the various desirable properties of epoxy resins such as chemical resistance and oil resistance, and which when used as paints, exhibit improved adhesion to an adherend and improved re-coating adhesion to the film formed thereon.

In a thermosetting coating composition comprising at least one thermosetting resin selected from aminoalkyd resins and aminoacrylic resins as a main ingredient of a vehicle, the improvement wherein the composition contains 100 parts by weight of the thermosetting resin and 5 to 50 parts by weight of a cyclopentadiene-derived hydrocarbon resin having a softening point of 50.degree. to 160.degree. C. and obtained by heat polymerizing a mixture of 85 to 55% by weight of a cyclopentadiene-type monomer with 15 to 45% by weight of a polar monolefinic monomer copolymerizable therewith. The compositions have improved flexibility, impact strength and adhesion and are useful as vehicles for thermosetting oil-base paints.
