A method of manufacturing a head suspension includes a punching process, a positioning process, and an affixing process. An objective part on the head suspension to which a damperis affixed includes a discontinuous section. The punching process punches a damper material into the damperwhose shape corresponds to the shape of the objective part excluding the discontinuous section. The positioning process positions the damperto the objective part so that the damperavoids and surrounds the discontinuous section, and the affixing process affixes the damperto the objective part. The method secures a uniform damping effect among manufactured head suspensions and improves the yield of dampers and head suspensions without deteriorating the functions and performances of the head suspensions.

Method of manufacturing a head suspension

A spring has a fixed end and a free end, the free end when elevated to a specific elevation from the fixed end produces a load on an object. A spring constant of the spring is calculated, a load correction amount for correcting load of the spring is calculated using the spring constant, and the spring based on the load correction amount.

Spring load correction method and device

A spring has a fixed end and a free end. A specific portion of the free end is elevated from the fixed end, and a load measuring device that measures the load on the spring is arranged so as to make a physical contact with the free end. An elevation is measured from the fixed end of a specific portion of the load measuring device where the free end and the load measuring device make the physical contact with each other. It is determined whether the elevation measured is equal to a specific elevation and the load on the spring is measured with the load measuring device when the elevation measured is equal to a specific elevation.

A fluidic apparatus includes a pulley driven by an engine, torque limiting means disposed in the pulley and adapted to shut off the transmission of driving force transmitted by the pulley when overload is applied thereto, and a driving shaft driven by the torque limiting means. The torque limiting means includes a boss formed coaxially with the pulley, a collar disposed integrally and coaxially with the driving shaft, and a coiled spring adapted to hold outer peripheral surfaces of the boss and the collar by tightening with a predetermined tightening allowance. With the torque limiting means, if abnormal loads should be applied to the driving shaft, there hardly occur internal breakages, or the like, in the fluidic apparatus. In addition, because the torque limiting means has such a simple construction, the fluidic apparatus is down-sized and reduced in manufacturing cost.
