A joint member is made of an elastic member whose cross sectional shape is an almost M-character shape and which has: an inserting portion formed with an opening portion and a slit; an outer edge portion as an outer peripheral portion of the joint member; and a supporting fixing portion for coupling the inserting portion and the outer edge portion on the upper portion side. A cross sectional shape of an opening of the opening portion is a shape of a circular cone frustum in which the opening and a bottom surface are coupled via an inclined surface. The slit is formed in the rectangular bottom surface. The joint member is sandwiched between a casing and a pressing plate. The inserting portion and the supporting fixing portion exist in planes which are different in the inserting direction of a liquid supply needle.

Ink cartridge

An ink cartridge which is detachably mountable to an ink cartridge mounting portion of a recording device, the recording device having an ink jet recording head which is provided with a head side connecting portion which functions upon intermittent ink filling, the ink cartridge being provided with a cartridge side connecting portion which is connectable with the head side connecting portion, and the ink cartridge being capable of containing ink to be supplied through the cartridge side connecting portion, the ink cartridge includes a power receiving portion, wherein an intermittent connection between the head side connecting portion and the cartridge side connecting portion is effected using rotation, the receiving portion being effective to receive power for the rotation; wherein the power receiving portion and the cartridge side connecting portion are disposed in a region adjacent one end portion of the ink cartridge.

The present invention makes it possible to improve the alignment accuracy of the joint section of an ink cartridge with an ink supply route of an inkjet head. Based on this, the present invention provides an ink cartridge capable of preventing ink leakage with high reliability and constructed inexpensively in a reduced size and particularly suitable for a pit-in system. An ink cartridge which is detachably mountable to a liquid ejection type recording device including a liquid ejecting head for ejecting liquid onto a recording material while scanning the recording material in a direction crossing with a feeding direction of the recording material, and a recovery unit for sucking the liquid through a nozzle of the liquid ejecting head. The ink cartridge includes a receiving portion for receiving the liquid discharged from the liquid ejecting head by the recovery unit; a liquid containing portion for accommodating the liquid to be supplied to the liquid ejecting head; and a connecting portion for connecting the receiving portion and the suction recovery unit, wherein the connecting portion is disposed at a position upstream of a front end surface portion of the ink cartridge with respect to an inserting direction in which the ink cartridge is inserted into the liquid ejection type recording device.

The present invention solves problems attributable to color mixing occurring at a region where an ink container containing three or more different inks and an inkjet printing head are connected as a result of repetition of connection and disconnection of the components. An ink cartridge has a joint section which is connected to a printing head unit when the inks are supplied to the printing head unit. The printing head unit performs printing by ejecting the cyan, magenta, and yellow inks. At the joint section, a supplying part for the cyan ink, a supplying part for the magenta ink, and a supplying part for the yellow ink are arranged in the order listed. The interval between the yellow ink supplying part and the magenta ink supplying part is greater than the interval between the cyan ink supplying part and the magenta ink supplying part.

An ink supply system includes a recording apparatus and an ink cartridge. The recording apparatus has a recording head, configured to discharge ink, includes an ink storage chamber for storing ink therein and a plurality of ink receiving portions communicating with the ink storage chamber. The ink cartridge, detachably attached to the recording apparatus, contains ink and has a plurality of ink supply portions for supplying ink to the recording head. A sub-tank unit of an ink jet cartridge can contain ink for image printing therein. The sub-tank unit includes a container main body having a ink storage for storing the ink, a ventilation path enabling the liquid storage and the outside of the container main body to communicate with each other, a gas liquid separation member disposed to communicate with the ventilation path, and a capillary member disposed between the ink storage and the gas liquid separation member.
