An image forming apparatus includes a removable sheet support tray. The sheet support tray includes a sheet support surface providing a sheet support area above the sheet support surface. The support tray also includes a stopper portion movable between a restraining position and a non-restraining position that is a different position from the restraining position. In a state where the stopper portion is located at the restraining position, the stopper portion includes a surface disposed adjacent to and downstream of the sheet support area in a first direction, the first direction extending along at least a portion of the sheet support surface.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming part; a paper dust collecting roller that collects paper dust from a sheet; a conveying roller that is opposed to the paper dust collecting roller and conveys the sheet; a paper dust removing member that contacts the paper dust collecting roller for removing the paper dust therefrom; a supporting member that extends in a width direction of the sheet; a swing shaft for swinging the supporting member; and a pressing member that presses the supporting member for contacting the paper dust removing member with the paper dust collecting roller. A controller controls the actuator so that the covering member is moved to the opened position when the detector detects the lifting operation of the presser foot lifting lever.

An embroidery frame for a cap includes a cap support having a pair of side walls capable of being disposed at both sides of a cylinder bed so that the side walls are parallel to a direction of extension of the cylinder bed, a pair of body supports mounted on the upper ends of the respective side walls for supporting a cap, body, the side walls including a pair of visor supports mounted on upper ends of the proximal ends of the side walls, respectively. The visor supports receive a visor of the cap from below at a position located higher than the body supports, and a pair of visor escapes on the side walls for escaping the visor of the cap, respectively. Then, by controlling direction of movement of the work cloth so that the stitches in a second stitching direction proceed to an area opposite to the needle tip opening direction, a plurality of stitches are formed in a second stitching direction opposite to the first stitching direction, following and in parallel with the stitches formed in the first stitching direction.

Sewing apparatus and sewing method

An engagement groove provided near a comer of a sewing cartridge is engaged with a pin shaft protruding from a free end side of an oscillating arm oscillatably provided on the front of an engagement plate. A tip of an engaging member rotatably provided to the oscillating arm is engaged with an engagement portion provided on a right side of the sewing cartridge to maintain a posture of the sewing cartridge. An operating member rotatably supported by the engagement plate is used to disengage the engaging member from the engagement portion of the sewing cartridge. A thread cutting device disposed on the back of the engagement plate is actuated in conjunction with the disengagement of the sewing cartridge using the operating member. With the movement of the operating member after thread cutting operation is completed, a limit switch provided on the engagement plate is turned off, so that a signal is not outputted. Then, when an embroidery frame needs to be detached from a sewing apparatus body, the embroidery frame is moved forward to a detachable position. With this structure, the embroidery frame can be detached from the sewing apparatus body after a thread extending between the embroidery frame and the sewing cartridge is surely cut.
