The viscosity of a puncture-preventing sealant () is set in a range of 25 to 35 dPa&#xb7;s, and a thixotropy index is set in a range of 6.5 to 11.0, the sealant () being filled in a sealant chamber () defined to extend along an outer periphery of an air chamber () in a tire (T). When the tire (T) is being rotated by traveling of a vehicle, the viscosity of the sealant () is reduced by a stirring action provided by a vibration or a centrifugal force of the sealant (), whereby the sealant () can be diffused uniformly in the sealant chamber (). When the vehicle has been stopped and the stirring action has been extinguished, the viscosity of the sealant () is increased, whereby the sealant () is maintained in a state in which it has been diffused uniformly in the sealant chamber () without flowing downwards in the sealant chamber () by gravitation. Therefore, even when the vehicle is travelling at a high speed, the generation of a vibration and a noise can be prevented. In this manner, the puncture-preventing sealant is provided, which has such a nature that the sealant is easy to flow due to a low viscosity during traveling of a vehicle, and the sealant is difficult to flow due to a high viscosity when the sealant is left to stand.

A tire parameter estimation device that is economical and can accurately estimate tire parameters while taking into consideration both states of a vehicle and states of a road environment. A &mgr; gradient detecting circuit detects a &mgr; gradient on the basis of a wheel speed detected by a wheel speed detecting circuit. In order to estimate a braking force gradient in a low slip region including a steady travelling region, there is provided a device comprising a wheel speed sensor for detecting a wheel speed in a predetermined sampling period and outputting time series data of the wheel speed as a wheel speed signal, a break point frequency estimating section for estimating a break point frequency in a gain diagram that represents a frequency response of a first order lag model that approximates a transmission characteristics from road surface disturbances to wheel speed, and a braking force gradient estimating section for estimating a braking force gradient with respect to the estimated break point frequency on the basis of the map showing a relationship between braking force gradient and break point frequency stored in advance.

An apparatus for detecting abnormality of a vehicle sensor and a method are provided. The apparatus is capable of preventing erroneous detection of abnormalities of sensors. The apparatus has a grip degree detecting device for detecting grip degree of a wheel of the vehicle with respect to a road surface. A metal gasket assembly for a cylinder head includes a pair of elastic metal substrates each having an outer shape which conforms with the outer shape of the gasket assembly, cylinder openings corresponding to cylinders in the cylinder head, a peripheral region surrounding the cylinder opening, which may be greater in thickness than remaining region of the relevant substrate, and a bead in the peripheral region. The substrates are superimposed with each other with top portions of the beads of the substrates in abutment with each other. A by-plate may be arranged between the substrates and has an increased thickness in its peripheral region which surrounds the cylinder opening and which is in direct abutment with the top portions of the beads in the substrates.

A metal gasket assembly comprises a substrate metal sheet having at least one opening, and a peripheral member fitted into the opening along the periphery thereof. The peripheral member is made of a metal plate having a thickness larger than that of the substrate metal sheet.
