A seal structure for sealing a gap between a first member and a second member of an aircraft includes: a plate spring-shaped first elastic seal; and a second elastic seal. When the first member and the second member are stationary with respect to each other, the first elastic seal elastically deforms between the first member and the second member to seal the gap, whereas the second elastic seal does not seal the gap. When the first member and the second member move closer to each other and the first elastic seal is elastically deformed, the second elastic seal elastically deforms between the first member and the second member to seal the gap.

A fire seal structure prevents flame from coming out of a fire-prevention region of an aircraft. The fire seal structure includes: a first seal compressed and elastically deformed between two members of the aircraft; and a second seal pressed against the first seal in a direction intersecting a compression direction in which the first seal is compressed. A wall of the first seal pressed by the second seal includes a bent groove including at least one bent part.

A fire seal structure prevents flame from coming out of a fire-prevention region of an aircraft. The fire seal structure includes: a plurality of walls including: a first wall provided on a first partitioning member; and a second wall provided on a second partitioning member. One of the plurality of walls is a spring wall that functions as a spring. The first and the second partitioning members define the fire-prevention region. The plurality of walls forms a labyrinth-shaped gap between the first and the second partitioning members. Each of the plurality of walls contains a refractory material and includes a front end part. When the first and the second partitioning members are stationary with respect to each other, the front end part is not in contact with another member, and the spring wall is disposed closest to a facing member, among the plurality of walls.

A fire seal structure prevents flame from coming out of a fire-prevention region of an aircraft including a panel and a duct. The fire seal structure includes: a first member provided on the duct at a connection portion between the panel and the duct; and a second member that faces the first member around the opening and is provided on the panel. The panel defines the fire-prevention region. The duct communicates with an opening provided in the panel. The duct defines, together with the panel, the fire-prevention region. The first and the second members each contain refractory material, and the first and the second members form a labyrinth-shaped gap between the duct and the panel.

To provide an aircraft pylon capable of being mounted to a wing without exertion of preload while ensuring that redundancy is provided in the pylon. An aircraft pylonincludes: a pylon strutfor supporting an engine of an aircraft; a pin joint mechanism for connecting the pylon strutto a main wing of the aircraft; a link memberdisposed between the pylon strutand the main wing of the aircraft, wherein the link memberincludes a collection of plural independent link elements.

In order to provide a firewall that is capable of preventing flame passage through a through-hole without any sealant in a connecting part of a component in which a fastener through-hole is formed, a firewallis provided which can prevent a flame from leaking out of the connecting part which connects a first memberto a second member, particularly through the fastener through-hole TH defined therein. In the firewall, the connecting part is a part of a fire-protection chamber. As sealing piecesandwhich also constitute a part of the fire-protection chamberare in contact with each other, the flame is unable to enter into a closed space CA. An engine mount of an aircraft and an aircraft are provided, which can reduce a size of an engine mount and can effectively use a space in an engine nacelle even in an engine with a high bypass ratio. An engine core sectionat a rear of an engineis supported by a rear engine mountcomprising an engine side mount memberfixed to a side of the engineand a strut side mount memberfixed to a side of a pylon strut. The rear engine mountis divided into the engine side mount memberand the strut side mount member, and thereby, even in the enginewith a high bypass ratio in which an outside diameter of the fan sectionand the outside diameter of the engine core sectionsignificantly differ, the lengths in the vertical direction of the engine side mount memberand the strut side mount memberare suppressed.

A catalytic structure for cleaning exhaust gas from automobiles, etc., is provided. The catalytic structure comprises a ceramic carrier having a three-dimensional network skeleton forming the intercommunicating voids therein and a catalyst-carried activated alumina layer formed on the surface of the three-dimensional network skeleton. This catalytic structure is produced by contacting a ceramic carrier with a catalyst-containing solution and drying the carrier by evaporating the solvent in the solution so that the catalyst will be carried at a higher density in the activated alumina layer on the side of the skeleton surface against which side the incoming exhaust gas does not impinge, than on the side against which the exhaust gas impinges.

A method of applying .gamma.-alumina to a porous ceramics structure includes the steps of: causing fine particles of .gamma.-alumina together with a carrier gas to flow through pores in the porous ceramics structure so as to deposit the .gamma.-alumina fine particles on the surfaces of the skeleton of the porous ceramics structure, and heating the structure with the .gamma.-aluminum particles deposited thereto to a predetermined temperature thereby fixing the .gamma.-alumina particles. The fine particles of .gamma.-alumina are formed by causing an arc discharge between the surface of molten aluminum and an aluminum electrode so as to generate vapor of aluminum, and oxidizing the aluminum vapor by an oxidizing gas which may be Ar-O.sub.2 carrier gas which is made to flow through the pores in the porous ceramics structure.
