An instrument panel is formed in such a manner as to be vertically divided into an upper panel and a lower panel along a transverse direction of the body of a vehicle. A steering support beam and a blower unit are integrally mounted on the lower panel to construct a unitized component before they are mounted on the vehicle body. After the unitized component is mounted on the vehicle body from an upper side of the lower panel, the upper panel is mounted on the vehicle body.

An instrument panel extends in the widthwise direction of a vehicle body, and is vertically separated into an upper panel and a lower panel. A bolt member for fastening a column-mounting bracket and a column holder is independently fixed to the column-mounting bracket and to the column holder. In a state in which the bolt member is fixed to the column holder, a first nut member is screwed onto a first externally-threaded portion from above the lower panel mounted on the vehicle body, thereby fastening the column holder to the column-mounting bracket.

A selects device selecting at least one wavelength range from among the wavelength ranges divided by the wavelength range dividing device. A signal processing device processes the output signals of the imaging device in response to the selected wavelength ranges so as to be video signals.

An imaging apparatus is provided with a negative lens, a variable focussing lens unit including a material with an electrooptic effect, a light blocking unit, including the material with the electrooptic effect, capable of changing an aperture diameter, and a switch, interlocked with each other, capable of supplying electric power to the variable focussing lens unit and the light blocking unit which are arranged in order on an optical axis from an object side to an image side. When the switch is turned off, the variable focussing lens unit is set to bring an object at a far point into focus and the light blocking unit is set so that an aperture is determined by an aperture stop, while on the other hand, when the swtich is turned on, the variable focussing lens unit is set so that an object at a near point is in focus and the light blocking unit is set to be smaller in aperture. Apertures different in size are determined by a plurality of annular transparent electrodes incorporated in the light blocking unit and configured concentrically. Thus the imaging apparatus can be constructed to be small or compact in size and is easy in manufacturing.

An objective optical system is provided with at least one liquid crystal lens whose polarizing characteristic selected in a direction such that polarizing components of light reflected from the lens are counterbalanced and a variable liquid crystal stop is arranged at an angle with respect to an optical axis so that an incident direction of light is deviated to the side on which contrast between transmission and blocked states of light is maximized. The objective optical system enables the balance of the polarizing components to bring about a proper image for observation, can moderate asymmetry, relative to the optical axis, of the contract between the transmission and blocked states of light of the liquid crystal stop, and can secure an adjustable object image.

The imaging apparatus and endoscope apparatus comprise an image forming optical system forming the image of an object to be imaged. An endoscope apparatus has an illuminating device for applying at least infrared illuminating light to the interior of an organic body across the organic tissue of the body, an elongated insert portion to be inserted into the body, and an image pickup device having a light-receiving portion provided on an end of the insert portion and capable of picking up the infrared image of an object illuminated by the light transmitted through the tissue of the body. The endoscope apparatus further has an exposure amount control device capable of controlling the amount of exposure of the object by the illuminating device and applied to the object through the tissue of the body, and the amount of exposure of the object by illuminating light from another illuminating device which applies illuminating light to the object from inside of the body. The endoscope light source apparatus also comprises a body outside illuminating apparatus transmittively illuminating from outside the body the part observed with the endoscope. The exposure controlling apparatus controlling at least one of the exposure to the body inside illuminating light body from the body inside illuminating light source and the exposure to the outside illuminating light. The body outside illuminating light source can be made integral with the body inside illuminating light source and have a light transmitting member transmitting the light emitted from this body outside illuminating light source to a predetermined position outside the body and emitting it.

A method of stabilizing flight of a flying body having a circular cross-section by the use of a plurality of tripping wires, when the flying body flies in an air current at a high angle of attack with respect to the air current. And also a flight-stabilized flying body having a circular cross-section, comprising at least two tripping wires attached to the periphery of said flying body. The tripping wires are attached to the outer periphery of the flying body, by which an asymmetric side force acting on the flying body is reduced, thereby suppressing bad motion of the flying body, such as, rotation around the center of gravity of the flying body in a plane of an attack angle, i.e. the flat spin, yawing and the like motion. In a case of attaching two tripping wires to the flying body, an optimal angle of wire attachment for suppressing the undesirable motion resides in a region from 60.degree. to 45.degree. for the non-dimensional wire height of a region from 0.007 to 0.014. In a case of attaching more than two tripping wires to the flying body, an optimal distance of angle between adjacent two tripping wires resides in a region from 15.degree. to 45.degree. for non-dimensional wire height of a region from 0.007 to 0.014 and thus a number of the tripping wires required resides in a region from 24 to 8. In a case of the flying body comprising cylindrical and conical portions, the tripping wires are attached only to the cylindrical portion of the flying body for a Reynolds number region from 2.times.10.sup.5 to 4.4.times.10.sup.5.

A laser apparatus includes an operating laser oscillator for generating an operating laser beam for medical treatment and a marker laser oscillator for generating a visible laser beam (i.e., marker laser beam) in order to mark a portion of the body cavity to be treated. The marker laser beam is guided coaxial with the operating laser beam to become incident on a laser probe. The marker laser beam is intermittently shielded by a chopper. The shielded marker laser beam is reflected by a reflecting surface of the chopper and is guided to a photosensor. The operating laser oscillator is driven in response to an output signal from the photosensor.
