Hollow silicone fine particles have high productivity, low breakability, a narrow particle size distribution and a volume average particle diameter equal to or lower than 1 &#x3bc;m. The hollow particles are made by removing organic macromolecular particles and/or an organic solvent away form inside core-shell particles produced by coating particles made from the organic macromolecular particles and/or the organic solvent with silicone compound that is made from one or more units selected from the group consisting of SiO4/2 unit, RSiO3/2 unit, and R2SiO2/2 unit (wherein R is C1-4 alkyl groups, C6-24 aromatic groups, a vinyl group, a &#x3b3;-(meth)acryloxypropyl group or organic groups having an SH group(s)), the silicone compound containing R2SiO2/2 unit by 20 mole % or less.

The present invention provides silicone polymer particles having excellent tensile properties and excellent transparency and also provides a silicone composition. The present invention relates to silicone polymer particles having a silicone core-alkoxysilane condensate shell structure in which silicone particles with a volume-average particle diameter of 0.001 &#x3bc;m to 1.0 &#x3bc;m are coated with an alkoxysilane condensate, and also relates to a silicone composition containing (A) the silicone polymer particles, (B) a polyorganosiloxane having at least one alkenyl group in its molecule, and (C) a curing agent. The present invention further relates to respective manufacturing methods of the silicone polymer particles and the silicone composition.

The present invention relates to a flame retardant which is a graft copolymer. The graft copolymer is obtained by polymerizing a vinyl monomer containing at least two polymerizable groups, and at least one other vinyl monomer, in the presence of polyorganosiloxane particles in a latex state. The polyorganosiloxane particles contain grafting agents that are unevenly distributed on the surface thereof. The present invention also relates to thermoplastic resins containing this flame retardant.

The present invention provides a thermoplastic resin composition that excels in the slidability and mold release ability at molding of thermoplastic resin by virtue of mixing of a small amount of a polyorganosiloxane-containing graft copolymer excellent in powder characteristics. The present invention can solve the above-mentioned problem by providing thermoplastic resin composition comprising 0.01 to 5% by weight of a polyorganosiloxane-containing graft copolymer (C) and 99.99 to 95% by weight of a thermoplastic resin (D), wherein the polyorganosiloxane-containing graft copolymer (C) is obtainable by polymerizing 40 to 10 parts by weight of a vinyl monomer (B) in the presence of 60 to 90 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane (A) with a proviso that a sum of (A) and (B) is 100 parts by weight, a graft ratio of the polyorganosiloxane-containing graft copolymer (C) is less than 1%, and a content of methyl ethyl ketone-insoluble matter in the polyorganosiloxane-containing graft copolymer (C) is 3% by weight or less.

A processing aid having specific viscosity of at least 0.5 is combined with a vinyl chloride resin, wherein the aid is obtained by polymerizing 1 to 50 parts by weight of a monomer mixture (B) comprising 0 to 49% by weight of methyl methacrylate, 51 to 100% by weight of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of a methacrylate ester except methyl methacrylate and an acrylate ester, and 0 to 20% by weight of a vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith, in the presence of a latex of a (co)polymer having specific viscosity of at least &#x3b7;0.7, which is obtained by polymerizing in emulsion 99 to 50 parts by weight of a monomer mixture (A) comprising 51 to 100% by weight of methyl methacrylate, 0 to 49% by weight of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of a methacrylate ester except methyl methacrylate and an acrylate ester, and 0 to 20% by weight of a vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith, wherein the total amount of (A) and (B) is 100 parts by weight.
