A charging inlet lid structure of a vehicle includes a normal charging inlet and a quick charging inlet in a recess portion for charging, and a first lid and a second lid for the recess portion. One of the normal charging inlet and the quick charging inlet is provided at one side of the recess portion and the other of the normal charging inlet and the quick charging inlet is provided at the other side of the recess portion. The first lid and the second lid are provided so as to slide from totally closed positions where the first lid and the second lid totally close the recess portion in directions in which the first lid and the second lid move away from each other and can be opened and closed independently of each other.

A charging lid device includes a lid that opens and closes a concave portion accommodating a charging inlet provided on a vehicle, and a support arm supporting the lid so that the lid is movable between a fully closing position and a fully opening position for closing and opening the concave portion. The support arm includes first and second swinging arms. One end side of the first swinging arm is attached inside the concave portion so as to swing. One end side of the second swinging arm is connected to the first swinging arm so as to swing and the other end side of the second swinging arm is attached to the lid so as to swing. The lid is arranged at a position displaced from the concave portion and along a surface of the vehicle when the lid is in the fully opening position.

A door mirror of a vehicle includes a housing and a base portion attaching the housing to a side surface of a vehicle body. The base portion includes: an attachment portion fixed to the side surface; and a support portion provided to protrude from the attachment portion toward a vehicle-width-direction outer side, and supporting the housing from below. The support portion is formed into a sectional shape of an inverse wing having a lower surface bulging downward in a vertically sectional shape in a front/rear direction, and the support portion is provided with a bead portion in the lower surface of the support portion, the bead portion protruding downward and extending in the front/rear direction so as to be gradually separated from the side surface as it goes toward a rear of the vehicle.

The device comprises a clip non-rotatably mounted on part of the delivery pipe, and the clip includes retaining portions extending along diametrically opposite wall portions of the injector and having confronting projections adapted to engage mating holes bored in the diametrically opposite wall portions respectively of the injector thereby positioning the injector.

A method of detecting a fault of an exhaust gas recirculation system of an internal combustion engine, comprising detecting a temperature relating to a temperature of a gas recirculating through the exhaust gas recirculation system when the system is in a condition in which the system should be operated to return part of an exhaust gas of the engine to an intake passage, and detecting that the exhaust gas recirculation system is defective when the detected temperature is lower than a fault discriminating value. A condition of air to be sucked into the engine, such as intake air temperature and atmospheric pressure, is detected, and the fault discriminating value is set in accordance with the detected air condition, whereby abnormality or fault of the exhaust gas recirculation system can be detected accurately and reliably. Preferably, the fault detection is inhibited until the engine temperature reaches a predetermined value and/or a predetermined time period elapses after the start-up of the engine, whereby erroneous fault detection can be prevented.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine capable of using as a fuel a regular (low-octane) gasoline, a premium (high-octane) gasoline, or a mixture of both type of gasolines. The engine produces knocks when the ignition timing is advanced beyond a reference ignition timing determined as a function of the type of gasoline being used. This ignition timing control apparatus detects the knocks, and provides as an output therefrom a signal according to the occurrence rate of the knocks which essentially indicates the type of gasoline in use. By means of this signal, this ignition timing control apparatus continuously displaces the reference ignition timing in the direction of retard angle by using a proportion factor calculator and an interpolator. At the same time, the displaced reference ignition timing is corrected by the detected knock signals on a real time basis. In addition to the ignition timing control, an operating parameter for the engine such as a supercharging pressure, a compression ratio, or an air/fuel ratio is controlled to suppress knocks by the displaced reference control value and/or the corrected control value. The combined ignition timing signal and operating parameter signal serve to energize an ignition coil and an actuator to suppress the occurrence of knocks. This operation will continue until no knocks occur.
