A webbing take-up device includes a spool, a lock gear that restricts pull-out direction rotation of the spool, a force limiter mechanism that permits pull-out direction rotation of the spool at or above a force limiter load, and a pawl that switches the force limiter load. The webbing take-up device further includes a cylinder section that includes a first cylindrical portion and a second cylindrical portion, a gas generator that supplies gas into the second cylindrical portion, and a piston section that is moved along the first cylindrical portion by an increase in pressure inside the second cylindrical portion and the first cylindrical portion so as to press and displace the pawl. An axial center of the second cylindrical portion is disposed offset with respect to an axial center of the first cylindrical portion, and an abutted portion that is abutted by the piston section is provided at a boundary between the first cylindrical portion and the second cylindrical portion.

Webbing take-up device

A webbing take-up device includes a spool that takes up a webbing worn by an occupant, and that is rotated in a pull-out direction due to the webbing being pulled out, and a lock base that limits pull-out direction rotation of the spool in a vehicle emergency. The webbing take-up device further includes an energy absorbing wire that undergoes deformation so as to permit pull-out direction rotation of the spool at or above a force limiter load when the lock base has limited pull-out direction rotation of the spool, and a second force limiter mechanism that adjusts the pressing force of the energy absorbing wire according to a remaining take-up amount of the webbing on the spool.

A webbing take-up device in which, when a pretensioner mechanism is activated and turning of a pinion relative to a spool is allowed, a lock pawl is turned by the pinion and a trigger wire is sheared by the lock pawl. Thereafter, the pinion turns more relative to the lock pawl and shears a lock pin of the lock pawl. Hence, the lock pawl turns and activates an activation mechanism. Therefore, the activation mechanism may be activated without a torsion shaft of a force limiter mechanism allowing turning of a lock base in the take-up direction relative to the spool.

In a webbing take-up device, an open portion is formed in the other side, in a direction about a rotational axis of a switch pawl, of a sensor holder. In a state where an engagement piece is positioned on the outside of the open portion, the switch pawl is rotated about a shaft to cause the engagement piece to enter in a window portion, so, a distal end of the engagement piece, bent in a hook shape, faces to a regulation wall in an axial direction of the shaft. It is not necessary to elastically deform the engagement piece when bringing the regulation wall and the engagement piece into facing. Therefore, the engagement allowance in the engagement piece with the regulation wall can be enlarged and the distal end of the engagement piece can be prevented from crossing over the regulation wall and moving toward the shaft side.

The present invention provides a webbing take-up device that can effectively suppress tilt of a rotation body when an actuation member has been actuated. In a webbing take-up device, tilt restricting portions are provided at a V gear. The tilt restricting portions are provided at a radial direction inner side than a place of engagement between a W pawl and ratchet teeth of a sensor holder and project further toward a sensor holder side than an end surface at the sensor holder side, which end surface is at the outer side in the radial direction than the place of engagement. For this reason, tilt of the V gear with respect to its axial direction can be restricted.

In a webbing take-up device, a FL lock pawl is actuated by rotation of a spool in a pull-out direction relative to a lock base, coupling the spool and a lock ring of an energy absorption mechanism together by the FL lock pawl. A reduction in number of times the FL lock pawl is actuated is thereby enabled in comparison to a case in which the FL lock pawl always actuates on actuation of a lock mechanism. The occurrence of wear or the like of ratchet teeth of the FL lock pawl is suppressed as a result. Accordingly, improvement of margin for durability of the FL lock pawl that actuates the energy absorption mechanism is enabled.

A webbing take-up device including: a take-up shaft on which a webbing is taken up; a lock mechanism including a lock gear disposed at one axial direction end portion of the take-up shaft and formed with ratchet teeth, and a lock plate formed with lock teeth engaging with the ratchet teeth; and a frame including a pair of leg plates disposed at both axial direction end portions of the take-up shaft, an opening portion being formed at a leg plate of the pair of leg plates disposed further to the other axial direction end portion of the take-up shaft than the ratchet teeth and the lock teeth, and the opening portion passing through the leg plate at a position that faces towards a range including a mutual engagement position between the ratchet teeth and the lock teeth and the periphery of the engagement position along the take-up shaft axial direction.

In a placement face of which a general face is configured with a circular cone shape, restriction faces are formed. When a sensor ball rolls along an axial direction of rotating shafts, the sensor ball accordingly contacts one of the restriction faces or another of the restriction faces. From this state, in order for the sensor ball to roll further along the axial direction of the rotating shafts, the sensor ball has to rise up the one of the restriction faces or the other of the restriction faces that respectively have a larger angle of incline than the general face. By contrast, in order for the sensor ball to roll in directions orthogonal to the axial direction of the rotating shafts as seen in plan view, the sensor ball only has to roll over the general face.

A webbing take-up device is provided capable of preventing or suppressing a frame from deforming such that one of leg-plates or a back-plate displaces towards the other. A face on the center of curvature side of a curved portion of a front back plate section configuring the frame and a one width direction edge namely an upper edge of a bar support face each other along the up-low direction. When the front edge sides of leg-plates are displaced to rise due to a webbing being pulled, the one width direction edge of the bar support interferes with a front end of the front back plate section to prevent or suppress the front edge sides of the leg-plates from rising further. Deformation of the frame caused by the front edge sides of the leg-plates to rise can accordingly be prevented or suppressed.

In a webbing take-up device, a cut-out portion is formed in a close-off portion that closes off a pawl housing groove from a side opposite a spool body side. For this reason, the close-off portion is not formed in a position facing ratchet teeth which is at from a second ratchet tooth from a take-up direction side to the other side. Due to this, even if a head portion of a lock pawl, particularly a take-up direction side portion of the head portion, is displaced in such a way as to move away from the spool body, the head portion does not come into contact with the close-off portion or, even if the head portion comes into contact with the close-off portion, a force with which the head portion presses the close-off portion becomes smaller.

If a V-gear abruptly rotates in a pulled-out direction due to reaction generated by rotation in a take-up direction being stopped when rotating in a take-up direction, a restriction body restricts swinging of a W-pawl in operation direction, so that lock of pulling-out of a webbing from a spool is suppressed. An insertion portion of a frictional spring of the restriction body is caught by an abut portion and a catching portion of a support hole. At an opening-side portion of the support hole, an enlarged portion is formed such that a position other than a position of the catching portion at the opening-side portion is enlarged compared to that of the catching portion. Even if the minimum-diameter of the support hole is small, strength of a molding portion for the support hole in a mold for the V-gear can be improved and lifetime thereof can be longer.

A shaft portion formed at a vertical wall of a sensor housing is formed in a circular column shape, and an abut portion is formed facing a support wall, below the shaft portion. A width dimension of the abut portion is the same as the diameter dimension of the shaft portion as seen in plan view, and the abut portion is formed so as to overlap entirely with the shaft portion as seen from the opposite side of the shaft portion to the abut portion. Foreign objects such as dirt or dust that fall onto the circular column shaped shaft portion therefore readily slide over the shaft portion and fall down from the shaft portion, and foreign objects such as dirt or dust do not stay on the abut portion.

In a reclining sensor of a webbing take-up device, when a case turns together with a seat back that tilts towards the seat rear, rotation of a pulley is restricted by a pressing tab of an operation plate. Accordingly, when relative rotation of the pulley occurs with respect to the case, a wire is pulled out from another end of a tube, turning a sensor housing of an acceleration sensor. The wire pulled out from the other end of the tube is wound up onto a winding portion that is an outer peripheral portion of the pulley that rotates. Since the pulley that pulls the wire merely rotates about its center of rotation, the inside of the case is sufficient as long as rotation range of the pulley is secured, enabling a reduction in size of the case.

An acceleration sensor of a webbing take-up device is provided with a sensor housing in which a spherical body is placed. A rotating shaft is formed at a longitudinal wall of a support wall of the sensor housing, and rotatably supported at a shaft receiving hole formed in a hanger support wall. A position of formation of the rotating shaft is set to be upward relative to a center of gravity of the sensor housing whose state where a sensor lever is installed at the support wall and the spherical body is placed on a curved-surface of a placing portion. Consequently, even without a heavy body being attached at the lower side of the spherical body or the lower side of the sensor housing, the sensor housing rotates responsively when the take-up device main body is tilted. Therefore, the acceleration sensor can be reduced in size.

A length direction base end side of a wire passes through a retaining spring mounting hole formed in a case, and is anchored to an anchor tag that is indirectly retained by a pulley. A spring is provided in the retaining spring mounting hole, and a base end of a tube is retained to the spring through a metal cylinder body. A spring-side step portion of the spring is pressed contact to a mounting portion-side step portion of the retaining spring mounting hole so the spring is retained. When the tube is pulled towards an opening side of the retaining spring mounting hole, the spring moves and the spring-side step portion makes press contact with, and is once again retained, by a different step of the mounting portion-side step portion.
