A straddle-type vehicle comprises a radiator through which air flowing from a front flows in a forward and rearward direction of a vehicle body; an engine which generates driving power for allowing the straddle-type vehicle to travel, the engine being disposed rearward of the radiator; and a cover unit covering from above a space formed between the radiator and the engine, and the engine, wherein the cover unit includes: a hard cover which is located at a front side of the cover unit, extends rearward from the radiator, and covers the space formed between the radiator and the engine; and a soft cover which is located at a rear side of the cover unit, extends rearward from the hard cover, and covers the engine.

Straddle-type vehicle

A straddle-type vehicle includes a radiator; an engine; and a passage which is provided inside the cylinder block and the cylinder head, flows a coolant from the cylinder head toward the cylinder block, and is provided with an inlet located on a rear side of the cylinder head; a pipe which flows the coolant from the radiator toward the passage, and flows the coolant from an outlet toward the radiator; and a thermostat which limits a flow of the coolant inside the pipe in a case where a temperature of the coolant is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, and permits the flow of the coolant in a case where the temperature is higher than the predetermined temperature, wherein the outlet is provided on a front side of the cylinder block and the thermostat is attached on a front portion of the engine.

An air cleaner mounted on a motorcycle for purifying an engine intake air includes a lower casing forming a cleaner main body, a covering for covering an upward region of the lower casing, a cleaner element disposed inside the lower casing and positioned below a mating interface between the lower casing and the covering, and a partition wall formed in the lower casing for supporting the cleaner element and forming a part of a wall of a clean chamber.

Air cleaner for motorcycle

A cylinder head bolt inserted into a cylinder head is threadingly engaged with an engine casing comprised of a cylinder and a crankcase to tighten the cylinder head and the engine casing firmly together. Between a rotation operating part, which is provided in a head of the cylinder head bolt, and an upper surface of the cylinder head, a plain washer and a spring member placed thereabove are interposed. The spring member is capable of exerting an axially acting spring force. A first frictional resistance between the rotation operating part and the spring member is so chosen to be lower than a second frictional resistance between the spring member and the plain washer and a third frictional resistance between the plain washer and a bearing surface on the cylinder head.

Tightening structure for cylinder head bolt

An exhaust muffler for silencing exhaust gases, introduced from a first side, and then discharging them to a second side opposite to the first side, includes a silencing chamber forming structure having first, second and third chambers disposed sequentially from the second side to the first side, an inlet tube to communicate the outside on the first side with the first chamber after having sequentially passed through the third and second chambers, an outlet tube to communicate the second chamber with the outside on the second side after having passed through the first chamber, a first communicating passage communicating between the first and second chambers, and a second communicating passage communicating between the second and third chambers. A peripheral wall portion of the inlet tube, positioned in the third chamber, is formed with a vent hole to communicate a space within the inlet tube with the third chamber.

An exhaust system for discharging exhaust gases through an exhaust passageway, emitted from a multi-cylinder combustion engine mounted on a motor vehicle includes a partition plate formed therein for dividing the exhaust passageway into a plurality of juxtaposed exhaust passages and having a communicating hole defined therein, and an exhaust gas sensor positioned at a location in proximity of the communicating hole for detecting a composition of the exhaust gases.

Exhaust system for motor vehicles

An exhaust device for adjusting an exhaust gas cross sectional area of an exhaust passage in a combustion engine includes a valve body arranged in the exhaust passage communicating to an exhaust port of the combustion engine; a valve shaft fixed or integrally formed to the valve body and arranged so as to transverse the exhaust passage, the valve shaft changing the opening of the valve body by turning with the valve body about an axis of the valve shaft; a pair of bearing members for supporting rotatably the valve shaft at both ends thereof in a axial direction of the valve shaft; and a stopper arranged on the valve shaft so as to face an end face on the inward side of the exhaust passage of each bearing member in the axial direction. The stopper is restricted in the axial direction by the end face of each of the bearing members so that the valve body and the valve shaft do not move in the axial direction.
