A printing device provided with a conveyer roller pair for holding sheet paper drawn out from a recording paper roll to feed the sheet paper forward or backward. The device includes a feeding roller pair disposed between the recording paper roll and the conveyer roller pair for drawing out the recording paper and feeding it to the conveyer roller pair and a color recording unit disposed downstream of the conveyer roller pair in the direction of conveyance of the recording paper for recording a color image on the recording paper that is being moved backward. A guide unit with pivotable guide member is disposed between the feeding roller pair and the conveyer roller pair for bending and guides the recording paper in an arc-shape at an acute angle. A reservation space is provided outside of the arc-shaped recording paper guiding path for accommodating the sagged recording paper therein.

A thermal transfer printer according to the present invention includes; a head mounting base with a thermal head attached thereto, and disposed so as to oppose a platen roller, a locomotion board including a supporting system for supporting the head mounting base so as to be spaced apart from and approaching to the platen roller, and being movable in an extending direction of the thermal head, a slider provided in connection with the supporting system, and being movable in the extending direction of the thermal head, wherein the head mounting base is spaced apart from and approaching to the platen roller by the supporting system as the slider moves.

Thermal transfer printer and method of removing ink cassette

An ink cassette includes a first part and a second part each of which has a first end provided with a substantially U-shaped bobbin holder and a second end provided with a similar bobbin holder. Each of the U-shaped bobbin holders has a pair of flexible arms defining a groove in which a pair of protrusions are provided. An ink ribbon set including an ink ribbon and two bobbins is stored in an ink ribbon supply container. The bobbins are supported at the same depth and spaced from each other a distance equal to a spacing between thee first and second parts. The ink cassette is overlaid on the ink ribbon set, with alignment marks aligned, and then the ink cassette is forced into the supply container. The bobbins are inserted past the protrusions into the grooves and are held around their axes by the arms.

A disc apparatus for recording information to and reproducing information from a disc includes a turntable with a magnetized surface; an excitation coil disposed opposite the magnetized surface of the turntable; a drive circuit driving a focus actuator; a detector detecting focusing error; and a control circuit. The control circuit controls energization of the excitation coil in accordance with the detector so as to move the turntable in the axial direction via the magnetic force between the excitation coil and the magnetized turntable.

An automatic disc-changing apparatus is for selectively transporting cartridge holders capable of accommodating a plurality of cartridges containing discs for the recording of information from a standby position to a recording and reproducing position, or from recording and reproducing position to standby position, transporting any single cartridge. This apparatus comprises cartridge holders for holding the cartridges; a holding mechanism for standby, for holding the cartridge holder in the standby position; a holding mechanism for transport, for holding the cartridge holder for transport; a transfer mechanism for moving it horizontally to the front and rear; and an elevator mechanism for raising and lowering holding mechanism for transport. This apparatus is compact, of simple configuration and convenient to use.

An automatic disc-changing apparatus for selectively transporting cartridge holders from a standby position to a recording and reproducing position, or from a recording and reproducing position to a standby position. The cartridge holders are capable of accommodating a plurality of cartridges containing discs to record information thereon and thereby transport any single cartridge. The automatic disc-changing apparatus comprises a plurality of cartridge holders for holding the cartridges; a standby-holding mechanism for holding the cartridge holder in the standby position; a transport-holding mechanism for selectively engaging with the cartridge holder for transport; a transfer mechanism for moving the transport-holding mechanism horizontally to the front and rear of the apparatus; and an elevator mechanism for raising and lowering the transport-holding mechanism. This apparatus is compact, simple in configuration and convenient to use.

A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus, such as VTR or DAT, in which a cassette containing a magnetic tape is to be loaded and which is capable of drawing the tape from the cassette and introducing onto a head drum to perform desired recording and reproducing actions. A tape loading mechanism of the apparatus comprises at least one loading disk, a tape drawing member, and a drive system for the drawing member. For minimizing the size of the apparatus, the loading disk is disposed around one of a pair of reel spindles, and the rotation of the loading disk is transmitted to the drawing member via a link. The loading mechanism gives the same driving force also to a tape tensioning device, a reel spindle braking device and a pinch roller driving device.
