A portion of a highly conductive metal member is infiltrated in voids of a porous high melting point metal member, and both the metal members are integrally joined to each other. An arc electrode portion 13 is formed of a high melting point area 11 in which the highly conductive metal is infiltrated in voids of the high melting point metal member. A coil electrode portion 14 is formed by hollowing out the interior of a highly conductive metal area 12 composed only of highly conductive metal and by forming slits 15 to 17 thereon. A rod 18 is hard-brazed on the rear surface of the coil electrode portion 14. With this electrode, it is possible to reduce the number of parts, and to omit the brazing portion between the arc electrode portion 13 and the coil electrode portion 14 for lowering the electric resistance and thereby the calorific value.

In the vacuum circuit interrupter, within a sealed vacuum vessel 100 a pair of separable conductors in center axial direction of the sealed vacuum vessel composed of a stationary conductor 3 and a movable conductor 5 are disposed. The sealed vacuum vessel 100 is sealed in vacuum tightness in such a manner that an upper end portion 1A of a hollow cylindrical insulation body 1 is sealed with a flexible member 6 generally called a bellows and a metal end plate 7 by joining a movable conductor side 6A of the bellows 6 to the movable conductor 5 so as to permit separation of the movable conductor 5 from the stationary conductor 3 while maintaining the vacuum sealed condition in the vacuum sealed vessel 100, and by joining one end of the metal end plate 7 with the upper end portion 1A of the hollow cylindrical insulation body 1 and the other end thereof with a metal end plate side 6B of the bellows 6. A lower end portion 1B of the hollow cylindrical insulation body 1 is sealed with the stationary conductor 3 by itself.

In an apparatus for transporting cylindrical steel articles by rolling down on inclined skid rails, a plurality of electromagnets are provided along extension of the skid rails so as to reduce the speed of rolling down of the articles repeatedly during transportation on the skid rails by applying forward and reverse excitations to each of the electromagnets at a predetermined timing thereby to transport the articles in a pitch transfer mode.
