In a foldable mirror provided with a mirror case foldable around rotary members on a mirror stay, a manual angle adjusting device for tilting a mirror accommodated in the mirror case, comprises a penetrating shaft vertically movably and rotatably mounted on the rotary members, a clutch member for moving a connecting portion between the clutch member and a mirror holder vertically and for rotating the connecting portion around the shaft in one unit therewith or independently, a first connecting member which is secured on the shaft rotates around it and moves vertically, second connecting members provided with a connecting shaft and a bent portion having one end connected thereto and the other end for engagement with the first connecting member so that the bent portion and the first connecting member are rotatable in opposite directions to each other and movable vertically, a third connecting member secured on the connecting shaft and movable vertically and rotatable around it, and an operating lever for connecting the third connecting member thereto so that the lever and the third connecting member are movable vertically and rotatable in opposite directions to each other.

Mirror angle adjusting arrangement

A step switch is formed by a rocking member which is coupled at its ends to perpendicular pivotting interlocking levers which, in turn, reciprocate a control plate in a longitudinal direction. The control plate carries pawls which engage ratchet teeth on a slidable contact holder to move the latter through one step in response to pressure on either end of the rocking member. A notch is formed for receiving each pawl at the end of its reciprocating path for preventing slip in the switch operation.

Step switch

A complex switch assembly specially for use in a motor vehicle for controlling positions of rear viewing mirrors provided on left and right-hand sides of the motor vehicle includes an operating lever constituted by a sphere, a bar portion extending radially outwardly from the sphere and a leg portion extending radially outwardly from the sphere in a direction opposite to the bar portion. The sphere is rotatably supported in a casing so that the operating lever can be rotated between first and second neutral positions about the axis of the operating lever and also can be tilted in four directions about the center of the sphere from each of the neutral positions. The leg portion controls a switch mechanism in accordance with the tilting of the operating lever.
