A mark display unit for vehicle navigation is provided, which displays marks on a display screen. The mark display unit includes a dial selector, with a push function, a push operation thereof being associated with selecting one of categories corresponding to the number of push operations, and a rotational operation thereof being associated with selecting one of items regarding a selected category corresponding to the rotational position, and a controller configured to display on the display screen one or more of the marks according to a combination of the number of push operations and the rotational position. As the selected item is switched among the items in association with the rotational operation, the controller displays one or more of the marks assigned with the selected item, by switching a display mode of each of the marks between displayed and non-displayed modes.

Mark display unit for vehicle navigation

A fishfinder data display device is provided. The display device includes a memory for storing fishfinder data obtained by a fishfinder detecting underwater and a location where the fishfinder data is acquired so as to associate the fishfinder data with the location, a display unit for displaying an image created based on the fishfinder data, and a controller, when an operator performs a specifying operation to a predetermined part of the image displayed by the display unit, for reading the location corresponding to the fishfinder data based on the specified predetermined part of the image from the memory, and causing an autopilot device to execute an autopilot operation with the location as a destination.

A network system where vessel instruments including sensors are connected through a communication network is provided. The sensors generate the same type of navigation data. The system includes a first network for realizing one-to-many communication, a first group instruments connected with each other through the first network, and a second group instruments connected to the first network with a different protocol from the first network. The first group instrument is an input/output gate between the second group instruments and the first network. At least one of the first group instruments has a server function. The first group instruments obtain identification information and types of navigation data of the second group instruments using the first group instruments as the gates, and the server-function instrument obtains identification information and types of navigation data of the instruments. The server function instrument selects one of the sensors generating the same type of navigation data, and outputs a sharing instruction of the data of the selected sensor, through the first network. The first group instrument provides the sharing instruction to the second group instruments using the first group instrument as the gate.

Network system for vessel instruments

Upon receiving a NAVTEX broadcast signal, a NAVTEX receiver reconstructs text data, detects a special character string including numerals followed by 'N' or 'S' and numerals followed by &#x201c;E&#x201d; or &#x201c;W&#x201d; in this order contained in latitude/longitude information, and extracts the latitude/longitude information from a textual sentence containing this special character string. Using the extracted latitude/longitude information and information on latitude/longitude of the receiver, the NAVTEX receiver calculates the distance and direction from own ship to a geographical site expressed by the extracted latitude/longitude information, and outputs information on at least the calculated distance and the extracted latitude/longitude information.
