An assembling structure for an intake manifold includes: a first downstream portion; a second downstream portion; an upstream portion; a connecting member that connects the first downstream portion and the second downstream portion with each other; and a plate-shaped stay. The connecting member is fixed to the first downstream portion and the second downstream portion by a bolt, and an other member that is a member other than the intake manifold is fixed to the intake manifold through the stay at least either between the connecting member and the first downstream portion, or between the connecting member and the second downstream portion.

Assembling structure for intake manifold

High pressure regions (H toH) and low pressure regions (L toL) are created based on the exhaust gas flow at curves in an EGR pipe (), thereby enabling the exhaust gas pressure at inlets (to) of gas introduction passages (to) to be adjusted. Accordingly, regardless of the number of cylinders or whether the lengths of the flow paths of the EGR pipe () are the same, the exhaust pressure at the inlets (to) of the gas introduction passages (to) can be appropriately adjusted so any difference in pressure of exhaust gas introduced into branch pipes (to) can be reduced. In this way, the EGR rates of the cylinders can be made closer or the same such that stable combustion can be achieved, thus enabling stable engine operation to be maintained. The EGR pipe () is arranged weaving closely between the branch pipes (to) so space efficiency can be improved and a sufficient amount of exhaust gas can be introduced evenly into the cylinders.

Intake mixture introducing apparatus

An air cleaner unit includes a casing and a filter element disposed in the casing for filtering air to be introduced into an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. The casing includes a first case member and a second case member that are coupled to each other such that the filter element is housed in an element housing portion of the casing. The first case member has a hinge receiving portion, and the second case member has a hinge inserting portion. The hinge receiving portion and the hinge inserting portion are disposed under the element housing portion. The hinge receiving portion includes an engagement opening in which the hinge inserting portion is received such that the hinge receiving portion and the hinge inserting portion are connected in a hinge manner. The hinge receiving portion further includes a hinge receiving surface that extends from a vicinity of the engagement opening.

A strong structural body is formed by integrating a side wall portion in the form of inverted V and a plate-shaped bottom wall portion. An air cleaner unit for an internal combustion engine includes a casing and a filter element disposed in the casing. The casing includes a first case member having a first opening and a first sealing surface on a periphery of the first opening and a second case member having a second opening and a second sealing surface on a periphery of the second opening. The first case member and the second case member are coupled such that the first and second openings are opposed in a substantially horizontal direction of a vehicle. The filter element has a peripheral portion that is interposed between the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface. The first case member includes a side wall and a projection that projects from an inner surface of the side wall. The filter element is held in a substantially vertical position in the casing through the projection.

An intake airflow control mechanism for an engine includes a first valve shaft on which valve elements of intake airflow control valves are fitted in such a manner that the valve elements pivot in accordance with the rotation of the first valve shaft; a second valve shaft on which valve elements of intake airflow control valves are fitted in such a manner that the valve elements pivot in accordance with the rotation of the second valve shaft; an actuator that rotates the first valve shaft, a link mechanism that transmits the rotation of the first valve shaft to the second valve shaft, a stopper that stops the rotation of the second valve shaft when the second valve shaft is in a prescribed rotational position, and a sensor that detects the amount by which the first valve shaft is rotated by the actuator.

Intake airflow control mechanism for engine

In an intake system for an internal combustion engine wherein a partition plate is provided within an intake pipe in a longitudinal direction so that an inside is divided into a first intake passage, which is an upper side passage of the above described intake pipe, and a second intake passage, which is a lower side passage of the above described intake pipe, and an intake control valve for opening and closing the second intake passage is provided, the partition plate has holes which connect the first intake passage to the second intake passage and allow fuel on a lower surface of the partition plate to be sucked out to the first intake passage. When an intense tumble flow is created in the first intake passage in the intake system, an air flow toward the first intake passage from the second intake passage is created in the holes so that the fuel that adheres to the partition plate can be sucked out.

Intake system for internal combustion engine

In a variable air induction apparatus, a valve element is switched between one side to open a first air intake passage and close a second air intake passage, and the other side to open the second air intake passage and to close the first air intake passage. The first air intake passage and the second air intake passage have lengths different from each other. The valve element is fixed on a shaft member to rotate integrally with the shaft. A driving device applies a driving force to rotate the shaft member. An urging device urges the shaft member to rotate the valve element to be switched to any one of the one side and the other side.
