An apparatus for automatically assembling a heat exchanger core assembly comprised of a pair of inserts and a plurality of tubes and corrugated fins arranged in an alternate manner. The assembled core elements are guided along a guide rail means while being fed by a pair of chain attachments. The core elements are then unloaded by elevatable guide rail means and removing means including compressible clamping jaws.

Method and apparatus for assembling a core for a heat exchanger having front and rear inserts, a predetermined number of tubes and fins which are alternatively arranged between the front and rear inserts, comprising two parallel rows of horizontally moving chain attachments for receiving and carrying these core parts an insert throwing-in station, a tube throwing-in station and a fin throwing-in station, which stations are arranged in this order along the direction of the movement of the chain attachments.

Apparatus for assembling core for heat exchanger

Cutting of a corrugated fin into predetermined lengths for a radiator in a vehicle. The phase mating is, when the cutter is moved in the direction opposite to the corrugated member, effected at the correcting point where the torque in the cutter is the same as the torque at a cutting point where the corrugated member is moved synchronizingly with the cutter. Thus, automatic phase mating is effected, thereby causing the fin to be cut precisely at a trough of the fin.
