A method of manufacturing an orifice member used in a nozzle for ink-jet printing includes a first step of applying an adhesive onto one surface of a synthetic resin member; a second step of forming at least one through-opening in a metallic member such that the through-opening extends in a direction perpendicular to the direction of penetration of the through-opening; a third step of bonding together the metallic member having the through-opening and the synthetic resin member via the adhesive; and after the bonding step, a fourth step of forming a plurality of through-holes having substantially the same diameter in a portion of the synthetic resin member corresponding to the through-opening of the metallic member such that the through-holes are aligned at a substantially constant pitch along the through-opening of the metallic member and such that the through-holes do not deviate from an area corresponding to the through-opening.

Method of manufacturing an orifice member

An object of the present invention to make it possible to bring precision-machined electrodes close to liquid filaments being injected through orifices, and manufacture a charging plate easily and at low cost. An unrounded edge on which a work surface on an upper surface intersects with one side surface is formed on a substrate made of non-conductive substance, and a plurality of electrodes are disposed, with the distal ends thereof aligned with the edges.

Charging plate for liquid jet charging devices and method for making same

A nozzle for ink-jet printing includes a manifold, a vibration element, and an orifice member. The manifold has an outside surface extending in the longitudinal direction of the manifold as well as a hollow space. The hollow space has an opening opened in the outside surface such that the opening extends along the longitudinal direction while maintaining a substantially constant width. The vibrating element is attached to at least one outside surface other than the outside surface in which the hollow space is opened. The orifice member is brought into contact and attached to the outside surface in which the hollow space is opened. The orifice member is composed of a metallic member provided in contact with the manifold, and a synthetic resin member bonded to the metallic member through use of adhesive. The metallic member has at least one through-opening at a position facing the opening of the hollow space of the manifold such that the through-opening communicates with the opening of the hollow space. The synthetic resin member has a plurality of through-holes having substantially the same diameter formed to face the through-opening. The through-holes are aligned at a substantially constant pitch along the through-opening of the metallic member such that they do not deviate from an area corresponding to the through-opening.

Orifice member of nozzle for ink-jet printing

A turning bar apparatus includes a stationary turning bar assuming the form of a hollow cylinder and adapted to change the running direction of a web looped therearound and a compressed-air supply unit for supplying compressed air into the hollow interior of the turning bar. A plurality of air outlet openings are formed through the wall of the turning bar and are arranged in rows and along the longitudinal direction of the turning bar. At least a single row of air outlet openings is arranged in an upstream portion of a web-looping region extending between an upstream end of the web-looping region and a circumferential center of the web-looping region. At least a single row of air outlet openings is arranged in a downstream portion of the web-looping region extending between the circumferential center of the web-looping region and a downstream end of the web-looping region.

Turning bar apparatus

There is disclosed a simple and compact additional printing apparatus for a rotary press and a printing unit. The additional printing apparatus includes an ink jet printing device comprising an ink jetting nozzle section and unnecessary ink droplet deflection unit. The ink jetting nozzle section includes a plurality of orifices arranged in a row and ink droplet formation unit. The unnecessary ink droplet deflection unit corresponds to each of the orifices. The ink jet printing device is disposed at a predetermined position in proximity to a paper web pass at which position an additional image can be printed on paper web in alignment with an image printed by the printing cylinder. The apparatus further includes signal output units for outputting a first signal related to the rotational phase of the printing cylinder or the position of a printed image printed through rotation of the printing cylinder, a second signal related to the running speed of paper web, and a third signal related to the amount of travel of the paper web, and control unit for controlling the unnecessary ink droplet deflection unit of the ink jet printing device. The control unit processes image data from a data source and the first through third signals so as to print an image as profiled by the image data at a position specified by the image data in alignment with an image printed by the printing cylinder.

Rotary press having additional printing apparatus

A copying and printing apparatus comprising an integral combination of an electronic copying device and a printing device in which, in the print mode, the image of an original is copied on a master sheet in the electronic copying device to be used as a printing master for producing the desired number of prints in the printing device, while in the copy mode, the image of an original is copied on copying sheets to produce the desired number of copies in the electronic copying device. A sheet delivery changeover mechanism is provided between the electronic copying device and the printing device to be selectively placed in the print position and copy position depending on the print mode or copy mode.
