Provided are a polyimide tube including a polyimide resin composition, wherein the polyimide resin composition contains a polyimide resin in which an acicular highly thermally conductive filler such as carbon nanotubes is dispersed in 15 volume percent or more relative to the total volume of the composition; the acicular highly thermally conductive filler has an orientation of 1.3 or more, the orientation being represented by the modulus of elasticity of the polyimide resin composition in the circumferential direction/the modulus of elasticity of the polyimide resin composition in the axial direction; and the polyimide tube has high thermal conductivity, is excellent in terms of mechanical strength and indentation strength, and provides a high fixing property and an excellent offsetting property; a process for producing such a tube; and a fixing belt including such a tube serving as a base member.

Provided are an adhesive resin composition that is halogen-free, has good adhesiveness, solder heat resistance, and flame retardancy, and has good flow characteristics, and a laminate and a flexible printed wiring board using the same. The adhesive resin composition contains a phosphorus-containing epoxy resin and/or a phosphorus-containing phenoxy resin, a phosphorus-containing polyester resin having a weight-average molecular weight of more than 20,000 and 150,000 or less, another thermoplastic resin, and a curing agent. The adhesive resin composition preferably further contains a benzoxazine compound. Preferably, substantially no inorganic filler is mixed in the adhesive resin composition.

The roller for an image-forming apparatus has a surface resistance capable of stably and effectively preventing the occurrence of electrostatic offsets, and also has an excellent releasing property. Also provided is a process for producing the roller for an image-forming apparatus, characterized by including the steps of applying a fluororesin dispersion containing an aqueous dispersion of phosphorus-doped tin oxide onto a base member or an adhesive layer disposed on an outer circumferential surface of the base member, and then sintering the fluororesin.

A method for producing a crystal film of an organic compound from a molten liquid or solution of the organic compound on a substrate or between a pair of substrates, the substrate or at least one of the pair of substrates having on a part of the surface thereof a three-dimensional geometrical structure capable of controlling the direction of the crystal growth of the organic compound, and the other part of the surface thereof than the part having a three-dimensional geometrical structure being smooth. The resulting crystal film comprises a sufficiently large single crystal for application to a practical element with its orientation controlled in an arbitrarily selected direction.

Method for producing organic crystal film

A method for producing an organic crystal is disclosed. One embodiment comprises maintaining a capillary tube containing a fused liquid of an organic crystal material and having a fused liquid reservoir at one end thereof at a temperature not less than the fusion point of the organic crystal material together with the fused liquid reservoir, reducing the temperature of the fused liquid in the fused liquid reservoir to precipitate seed crystals, and then slowly cooling the capillary tube successively from the end toward the other end to allow a single crystal to grow from the seed crystal in the capillary tube. Because of the large quantity of the fused liquid, a seed crystal can be formed and allowed to grow even from a fused liquid of an organic crystal material which hardly crystallizes in the form of a fused liquid. Another embodiment comprises charging a solution of an organic crystal material in a capillary tube under heat, rapidly reducing the temperature of one end of the capillary tube to precipitate polycrystals, and then slowly cooling the capillary tube successively from the end toward the other end to allow a single crystal to grow from the polycrystal as a seed crystal. A seed crystal grows from a solution of an organic crystal material under control of crystal form to obtain a single crystal which has no inversion symmetry center, is free from lattice defect or rearrangement, and less causative of a laser beam loss.

A fiber-type wavelength converting device comprises a nonlinear optical crystal core; and a glass cladding surrounding the core that produces a second harmonic utilizing Cherenkov radiation. An exit end face of the cladding is flat, and an exit end face of the core has asperities. The exit end face of the core is formed inside with respect to the exit end face of the cladding, and particles may be filled in a recess portion composed of a bottom surface of the exit end face of the core and side surface of an inner wall of the cladding. The cladding has an outer diameter of at least 1 mm to prevent breakage of device upon polishing and grinding. A thin film may be formed on an input end face of the device.

A method of forming a superconducting circuit comprises the steps of preparing a ceramics body which is changed from a non-superconductive phase not superconducting at the working temperature into a superconducting phase superconducting at the working temperature by heat treatment and performing the heat treatment on a part of the ceramics body by applying a laser beam to the ceramics body to change the same into the superconductive phase, thereby to form a superconducting circuit consisting of the superconductive phase and the non-superconductive phase on the ceramics body.

A single crystal non-linear optical transmission line is manufactured by using a cladding made of a glass material that eliminates or reduces the formation of an uneven inner wall of an optical fiber cladding made of a glass mother material. The improved glass material suppresses the elution of metal mono-oxides on the inner wall and results in a high yield of non-defective fiber manufacturing. A glass mother material, such as SF1, having a low concentration of lead oxide does not contribute to the elution problem common to higher concentration glass mother materials. A glass mother material having no metal oxides also overcomes the problem of elusion since substitute molecules, such as TaC6, do not elute in water or in acid solutions. These glass materials can be used to successfully form a non-defective core having a low refractive index layer of the inner wall and make possible single mode propagation of a laser light in a single crystal non-linear optical transmission line.
