A silicon-containing polymer having comb-shape structure comprising a unit of an organopolysiloxane as the main chain and a vinyl polymer as the side chain of the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1-4 alkylene, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each C.sub.1-4 alkyl, R is H or methyl, X.sup.1 is hydroxycarbonyl, C.sub.2-5 alkoxycarbonyl, C.sub.3-8 cycloalkyl-oxycarbonyl or phenyl, n is 1-100,000, R.sup.5 is C.sub.1-4 alkyl or phenyl, X.sup.2 is H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, phenyl, chlorine, C.sub.1-4 alkoxysilyl, or C.sub.1-4 alkyl which is substituted by one to three of --NH.sub.2, --NH--, --SH, --CN or F, l is 2-20, m is 0 or 1-10, which has excellent migration property and is useful as agents for giving water-repellency, adhesion, surface activity, etc. in paints or other compositions, and an intermediate macromonomer, and process for the production thereof.

A vinyl polymer having alkoxysilyl groups at both terminals of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and are each an alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 is an alkylene having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, n is an integer of 0 to 2, Z is at least one group of the formulae: ##STR2## (wherein R.sup.4 is hydrogen or methyl, Y.sup.1 is an ester residue having 2 to 11 carbon atoms, phenyl or a halogen, Y.sup.2 is an ester residue having 2 to 6 carbon atoms or a halogen, and Y.sup.3 is fluorine or chlorine atom), m is 10 to 10,000, which has excellent physical strength and is useful as an ingredient for paints, adhesives, sealing agents, and tacking agents, and an intermediate therefor, and a process for the production thereof.

An improved epoxy resin composition having improved crack resistance and toughness with maintaining the excellent mechanical and electrical properties, which comprises an epoxy resin dispersed with silicone resin particles which are a crosslinking reaction product of one or more organopolysiloxanes having silanol groups at both ends and one or more organosilane compounds having at least two alkoxysilyl groups within one molecule thereof. The epoxy resin compositions of this invention are useful as sealing materials for IC, and also as coating materials, paints, adhesives, and prepregs.

A continuous photochemical reactor comprises a rotatable cylindrical reaction vessel provided at its one end with an inlet for reaction mixture and at the other end with an opening, a lid body for closing said opening of the reaction vessel and for discharging reaction products, a lamp mounted on the lid body and coaxially arranged in the reaction vessel, and a driving means for rotating the reaction vessel around its axis. The reaction vessel is provided at its inner wall with a spiral conveyer blade so that the inner edge of the blade is arranged close to the outer wall of the lamp. A reaction mixture is fed to the reactor through the driving shaft and irradiated by light such as ultraviolet light from the lamp while being conveyed by the spiral conveyer blade.

A novel polycondensable macaronmonomer of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is OH or COOH, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and are each a single bond or an alkylene having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sup.4 is hydrogen atom or an alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sup.5 is hydrogen atom or methyl, X is an alkyloxycarbonyl having 2 to 15 carbon atoms, a sustituted alkyloxycarbonyl having 2 to 15 carbon atoms in the alkyloxycarbonyl moiety, a cycloalkyloxycarbonyl having 3 to 7 carbon atoms in the cycloalkyl moiety, or phenyl, and n is an integer of from 1 to 1.times.10.sup.4, which is useful as an intermediate for the prodcution of a polymer having comb-shape structure useful as an adhesive, adhesion improver, caompatibilizing agent, surfactant, etc.
