A method comprises the step of reading multi level data of reference of each of colors from a printed paper on which images are printed to be good. The multi level data of reference are converted into two level data of reference so that two level data of images of reference can be reproduced in a memory from the two level data of reference. The method further comprises the step of reading multi level data of inspection of each of colors from a printed paper which is fed when inspecting. The multi level data of inspection are converted into two level data of inspection so that two level images of inspection can be reproduced in the memory from the two level data of inspection. The method further comprises the step of comparing the two level images of inspection with the two level images of reference for inspection of stained parts and blurred parts.

Printed paper inspecting method and apparatus

A reading apparatus comprises a plurality of sensor modules having different resolutions. The sensor modules are arranged in a main scanning direction on a read surface to be used for different purposes of inspecting or identifying.

Reading apparatus

There is disclosed an optical sensor comprising a holder provided on a circuit board. The holder has first and second cavity means formed therein. The optical sensor further comprises first body means including LEDs combined therewith for directing a light onto an object to illuminate the object with the light and generate a reflected light reflected from the object. The first body means is of a cassette type adapted to be fitted into and held in the first cavity means of the holder for removal. The first body means is electrically connected with the circuit board to complete a first electronic circuit through the LEDs when fitted into the first cavity means. The optical sensor further comprises second body means including photo detecting means combined therewith for receiving and detecting the reflected light reflected from the object. The second body means is of a cassette type adapted to be fitted into and held in the second cavity means of the holder for removal. The second body means is electrically connected with the circuit board to complete a second electronic circuit through the photo detecting means when fitted into the second cavity means.

Optical system

There is disclosed an optical color sensor comprising a light source which comprises white LEDs for directing a white light onto a product to be inspected, to directly illuminate the product and generate a reflected light reflected from the product. The optical color sensor further comprises first photo detecting element means spaced from the product. A blue filter is interposed between the first photo detecting element means and the product so that the first photo detecting element means can receive and detect the reflected light passing through the blue filter. The optical color sensor further comprises second photo detecting element means spaced from the product. A red filter is interposed between the second photo detecting element means and the product so that the second photo detecting element means can receive and detect the reflected light passing through the red filter. The first and second photo detecting element means are arranged to receive and detect the reflected light reflected from the product at substantially the same position in a region onto which the white LEDs direct the white light.

Optical color sensor and color print inspecting apparatus

A method for inspecting bags having folded and pasting bottoms. Light source is provided to irradiate a bottom of a moving bag with a light so that shadows appear along a shape of bottom folds. A CCD linear array image sensor takes an image of the bottom of the bag from the reflected light and delivers electric signal corresponding to the image. The electrical signal are processed to extract a shape of bottom folds based on the shadows on the irradiated bottom. The obtained outer profile is compared with a reference input of a good bag stored in a memory to emit an electric selection signal classifying whether it is a good product or a defective product.
