A power transmission mechanism comprising: a flexible power transmission element; a pair of a drive pulley and a driven pulley on which the flexible power transmission element is wound, each the pulley having a pin-embedding hole formed to extend from the outer circumferential thereof toward the center thereof, and a slit elongated in the circumferential direction of the pulley to extend to opposite sides of the embedding hole and communicating with the embedding hole; and a pair of columnar or tapered anchor pins each having a path hole penetrating the anchor pin across the lengthwise direction thereof to receive the flexible power transmission element inserted therein, wherein each the anchor pin receiving the flexible power transmission element in the path hole thereof is embedded in the embedding hole of the associated pulley under pressure, and the flexible power transmission element is thereby held on the pulley.

A weight and form sensing apparatus according to the present invention provides weight sensors on a base, in matrix pattern for instance. Each weight sensor has a load receiving portion on a top. Weight and form can be sensed by single weight and form sensing apparatus according to the present invention. That is, output values of the weight sensors are summed, so that an article put on the weight sensors can be detected. Also, the existence of the load on each weight sensor is determined based on output signal of each weight sensor, so that the bottom form and size of the article can be identified. The weight and form sensing apparatus according to the present invention can be preferably arranged into a feeding stream of the article because an arrangement of the sensors for identifying the form and size of the article does not interfere an arrangement of the feeding mechanism for the article.

Each of side grippers that function as a film gripper includes upper and lower openable clampers. These clampers are designed to hold an edge portion of a film, and are opened after film packaging is completed. At least one film contact member, out of two film contact members that are attached individually to the upper and lower clampers, is formed of a cowhide, a material having a property such that a frictional force between the contact member and the film increases to and stays at a certain level as the humidity around the film rises. With use of the film contact member made of the hide, the film gripping force can be restrained from decreasing and the film-releasability can be improved despite the increase of the humidity.

A Stirling engine which has an expansion cylinder and a compression cylinder with an expansion piston and a compression piston, respectively, that have a fixed phase difference between them, where the expansion cylinder and the compression cylinder are connected through a heater, a regenerator, and a cooler, a fixed amount of working fluid is sealed in the expansion cylinder and a compression cylinder, and the engine is driven by heating or cooling the working fluid with the heater or the cooler, and in the above Stirling engine, the heater for heating the working fluid includes a combustion chamber attached to the expansion cylinder, a burner for jetting a combustible substance into the combustion chamber, a plurality of heat exchanger pipes for forming a plurality of passages for the working fluid to connect through between the expansion cylinder and the regenerator by turning back on themselves, in order to heat the working fluid with the high temperature gas from the burner, and a cylinder head for installing the plurality of heat exchanger pipes, in a concentric configuration with approximately equal distance apart and with an inclination of predetermined angle, on the expansion cylinder, in order to make equal the lengths of the passages for the working fluid between the expansion cylinder and the regenerator.
