A sheet type conductive member includes a tongue portion projecting in a tongue shape in a predetermined plane, a contact arrangement region in which a contact of a connector is arranged being laid out on a front surface of the sheet type conductive member, a first flexible conductor being exposed on the contact arrangement region, a second flexible conductor being exposed on a rear surface of the tongue portion, at least part of the tongue portion being folded back to a front surface side of the sheet type conductive member so that a contact connecting portion composed of part of the first flexible conductor and part of the second flexible conductor is formed in the contact arrangement region.

A connector includes a contact retained in a housing selectively in one of a first posture and a second posture inverted 180 degrees around a fitting direction, the contact including a contact portion to be contacted with a contact of a counter connector and a connection portion to be connected to a flexible conductor of a connection object, between a case where the contact is retained in the housing in the first posture and a case where the contact is retained in the housing in the second posture, the contact portion is situated at a same position with respect to the housing and the connection portion is situated at a different position with respect to the housing, the contact being retained in the housing in, of the first posture and the second posture, a posture corresponding to an orientation of a flexible conductor exposed surface of the connection object.

A contact is accommodated in a contact accommodating portion of a second insulator, an end portion of an electric wire is accommodated in an opened electric-wire-end-portion accommodating portion of a projection of a first insulator, the projection is accommodated in a projection accommodating portion of a contact with a flexible conductor being sandwiched therebetween and such that the opened electric-wire-end-portion accommodating portion is opposed to an electric-wire connection piece of the contact, the electric wire extends from the electric-wire-end-portion accommodating portion and makes contact with an electric-wire contact portion of the electric-wire connection piece of the contact, and a part of the flexible conductor is sandwiched between an outer surface of the projection and a conductor contact piece of the contact and makes contact with the conductor contact piece of the contact, whereby the electric wire is electrically connected to the flexible conductor via the contact.

In a connecting method, when a flexible conductor is exposed on a top surface of a connection object, a contact is disposed on the top surface of the connection object at the predetermined position in a state where the connection object is kept as it is, and when the flexible conductor is exposed on a bottom surface of the connection object, the contact is disposed on the top surface of the connection object at the predetermined position in a state where a part of the connection object where the connection part is disposed is inverted such that the connection part faces a top surface side of the connection object while being retained at the predetermined position.

A connector is mateable with a mating connector. The connector comprises a housing and a terminal. The terminal has an arm, a contact portion and a held portion held by a holding portion of the housing. The arm couples the held portion and the contact portion to each other and supports the contact portion so that the contact portion is movable. The contact portion has a bottom portion, a first support portion, a second support portion, a first contact point and a second contact point. Each of the first support portion and the second support portion extends upward from the bottom portion. The first contact point is supported by the first support portion. The second contact point is supported by the second support portion. Under a mated state, a mating terminal of the mating connector is sandwiched and held between the first contact point and the second contact point.

A connector is mounted on a circuit board when used. The connector has a housing and a terminal which has a held portion, a supporting portion, a coupling portion, a contact portion and a guiding portion. The coupling portion has a fulcrum. The guiding portion receives a vertical force from a mating terminal at a specific contact location. The guiding portion receives, at the specific contact location, a frictional force caused by friction between the mating terminal and the guiding portion upon movement of the mating terminal on the guiding portion. An action line of a combined force of the vertical force and the frictional force intersects with one of the circuit board and the housing at a reference point. The fulcrum is positioned beyond the reference point in a first orientation of a first horizontal direction.

An electronic equipment comprises a case and a connector which is attached to the case. The connector comprises a housing and a waterproofing member. The waterproofing member is sandwiched by a mating connector and a side portion of the housing in a second direction when the connector is mated with the mating connector. The waterproofing member has at least one first contact portion, at least one second contact portion, at least one third contact portion and at least one fourth contact portion. The third contact portion is pressed against the side portion in the second direction by elasticity of the waterproofing member upon the mating of the connector with the mating connector. The fourth contact portion is pressed against and in contact with the mating connector in the second direction by the elasticity of the waterproofing member upon the mating of the connector with the mating connector.

Electronic equipment

In a connector, a contact includes: a first connection portion and a second connection portion that are retained between a first insulator and a second insulator and face each other; and a pressing force receiving portion that makes contact with the second insulator and receives a pressing force from the second insulator to thereby press the first connection portion against the second connection portion. A connection object is sandwiched between the first connection portion and the second connection portion, and at least one of the first connection portion and the second connection portion makes contact with a flexible conductor of the connection object, whereby the contact is electrically connected to the flexible conductor of the connection object.

This invention provides a linear encoder having an arbitrary size while maintaining high producibility. An absolute linear encoder includes a long scale formed by continuously connecting a first short scale and a second short scale in which a first cyclic bit string and a second cyclic bit siring generated using the same initial value for different generator polynomials are arranged, and at least two sensors arranged at positions facing the long scale side by side in a longitudinal direction of the long scale.

An encoder includes a scale having a pattern to be detected, a detecting sensor outputting a signal corresponding to the pattern, a position calculator calculating a relative position between the scale and the detecting sensor based on the signal, a position data storage storing the calculated position data, and a position estimator estimating a relative position between the scale and the detecting sensor at a calculation-target time point based on the stored position data. The position estimator estimates the position at the calculation-target time point based on positions at first and second time points each preceding the calculation-target time point by a predetermined time. The position estimator processes position data in a first time width centered on the first time point and position data in a second time width centered on the second time point to calculate the positions at the first and second time points.
