A battery pack for an electric power tool is adapted for attachment in a removable manner to a tool body of the electric power tool. The battery pack includes an outer shell and a rechargeable battery unit accommodated in the outer shell. A power tool system includes a battery pack, a charger connectable to the battery pack, and a power tool body connectable to the battery pack. The battery pack includes a battery pack memory that stores identification information in a smallest unit allowing for communication with the charger and the power tool body. Each of the charger and the power tool body includes a device memory that stores at least one piece of identification information of a usable battery pack. Each of the charger and the power tool body or the battery pack includes a determination unit that determines whether or not the at least one piece of identification information stored in the device memory includes the identification information stored in the battery pack memory.

An electric tool adaptor is configured to be disposed between an electric tool and a battery pack and attached detachably with respect to the electric tool and the battery pack. The control unit decreases a constant current value of the charging current by stages during the constant current charging and determines that the secondary battery has deteriorated by using a first voltage drop value of the secondary battery occurring upon first conversion and a second voltage drop value of the secondary battery occurring upon second conversion.

A charge circuit is composed of a first circuit and a second circuit. Said second circuit is provided at a battery pack in which a secondary battery is comprised. Said first circuit is provided at a charger for charging said secondary battery. Said charge circuit comprises: an output power supply section; a control section configured to control said output power supply section to perform a charging operation; a memory provided at said second circuit and storing a number of charging; and a threshold current setting section. Said control section is configured to, in said charging operation, perform firstly a constant current charging operation, and then perform a constant voltage charging operation, and finish the charging operation when a charging current reaches a charge stop current value. Said threshold current setting section is configured to decrease said charge stop current value along with the increase of said number of charging.

An electric tool comprises a removable battery packas a power supply, a motor M as a power source, a drive unit being driven by said motor, a switch SW as an operation input unit, and a control circuit CPU controlling the driving of said motor according to the operation of said switch. The electric tool further comprises a power supply connection unit that enables a plurality of battery pack types, which have different rated output voltages, to be selectively connected, and an identification means that identifies the type of said battery pack that has been connected. Said control circuit is configured to control an output of said motor based on identification information for the type of said battery pack that has been connected, provided by said identification means.

Electric tool

A charging circuit includes a battery pack provided with one or more secondary batteries and a battery charger for charging the secondary batteries, the battery pack being detachably attachable to the battery charger. The charging circuit further includes a control unit for performing a charging control, a monitoring unit for detecting charged voltage of the secondary batteries to determine completion of charging, a storage unit storing charging data for use in the charging control of the control unit and determination of the charging completion of the monitoring unit and a changing unit for changing the charging data. The monitoring unit and the storage unit are arranged in the battery pack, and the changing unit and the control unit are arranged in the battery charger.

An electrical apparatus includes an electrical apparatus main body and a battery pack. The electrical apparatus main body has a load, a manipulation switch, a power receiving electrode, a main body control unit for controlling the electric power supplied from the power receiving electrode in response to a manipulation of the manipulation switch, a signal generation unit for generating an on-manipulation signal if the manipulation switch is switched on, and a main body signal electrode for outputting the on-manipulation signal. The battery pack has a battery, a power supplying electrode, a battery control unit for controlling the electric power supplied from the battery to the power supplying electrode, a battery signal electrode for receiving the on-manipulation signal, and a power supplying unit for starting a power supply from the battery to the battery control unit when the battery signal electrode receives the on-manipulation signal.

Electrical apparatus

In a control drive circuit for an electric power tool, a bridge-structured motor, which has a bridge structure and includes switching elements and a motor body, is connected to a power supply unit without any mechanical contacts, and an electric power is supplied to a control circuit for controlling the switching elements by turning on a trigger switch. Further, a circuit switch is provided at power supply sides of drive circuits for driving the switching elements, the circuit switch being controlled by the control circuit to interrupt supply of the electric power to the drive circuits.
