A binding machine includes a wire feeding unit configured to feed a wire, a curl guide configured to curl the wire fed by the wire feeding unit around an object to be bound, a binding unit including a twisting shaft provided to be rotatable around a predetermined axis, and a gripping part provided at one end side of the twisting shaft, wherein the gripping part is configured to grip the wire curled by the curl guide and the twisting shaft is configured to twist the gripped wire so as to bind the object, a binding machine main body having one end side at which the curl guide is arranged and configured to accommodate therein the wire feeding unit and the binding unit, and a setting unit provided at an opposite end side of the binding machine main body and configured to set a predetermined operation condition.

A reinforcing bar binding machine (A) includes a magazine (A) in which a wire (W) is housed, a curl guide unit (A) that winds the wire (W) around a reinforcing bar(S), a wire feeding unit (A) that feeds the wire (W), and a binding unit (A) that twists crossing portions between one end and the other end of the wire (W) wound around the reinforcing bar(S). The wire feeding unit (A) is configured such that a second displacement member () for displacing a second feed gear (R) is located behind the second feed gear (R) and provided between the second feed gear (R) and a handle portion (A).

A reinforcing bar binding machine capable of reliably performing a wire gripping operation includes a first movable gripping member that is displaced in a direction to contact with and separate from one side of a fixed gripping member and a second movable gripping member that is displaced in a direction to contact with and separate from the other side of the fixed gripping member. A bending portion brings the first movable gripping member and the second movable gripping member into and out of contact with the fixed gripping member. The fixed gripping member includes a shaft that rotatably supports the first movable gripping member and the second movable gripping member. A reinforcing bar binding machine includes a first movable gripping member that is displaced in a direction to come in contact with and separate from one side of a fixed gripping member. A second movable gripping member is displaced in a direction to come in contact with and separate from the other side of the fixed gripping member; and a bending portion brings the first movable gripping member and the second movable gripping member into and out of contact with the fixed gripping member. The fixed gripping member includes a shaft that rotatably supports the first movable gripping member and the second movable gripping member. In addition, the bending portion includes an opening and closing pin that pushes an opening and closing guide hole provided in the first movable gripping member and an opening and closing guide hole provided in the second movable gripping member.

A binding machine includes: an accommodation portion accommodating a reel around which a wire is wound; a wire feeding portion configured to feed the wire in a forward direction, winds the wire around a binding object, feeds the wire in a reverse direction, and wraps the wire around the binding object; and a torsion portion that twists the wire. The accommodation portion accommodates the reel such that the reel is offset in one direction along an axial direction of the reel with respect to the wire feeding portion. The binding machine further includes a restricting portion, in a wire passage between the reel and the wire feeding portion, which protrudes inward of the accommodation portion and has a restricting surface with which the wire bent in the other direction along the axial direction of the reel between the reel and the wire feeding portion comes in contact.

The reel which can mount substantial amounts of information for identifying the type of a wire wound thereon without increasing the hub size. The reel includes a hub that includes a winding part, a pair of flanges that face each other with the winding part interposed therebetween, first information display portions that are disposed on a first circumference about a shaft center of the hub of at least a surface of the flange, and a second information display portion that is disposed on a second circumference having a smaller diameter than that of the first circumference. The second information display portion is disposed in a region surrounded, in a circumferential direction, by both inner ends of the adjacent first information display portions and the shaft center of the hub.

A reinforcing bar binding machine is provided with a cutting die having a wire through hole which penetrates through the die along a direction in which a wire is fed out, a blade portion adapted to move along an open plane of an opening at one end of the wire through hole to cut a terminating end portion of the wire which has passed through the wire through hole and an engagement portion adapted to be brought into engagement with a portion of the wire which lies in the vicinity of the terminating end portion thereof when the blade portion is rotated so as to bend to hold the portion lying in the vicinity of the terminating end portion.
