The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a compound suitable for a pharmaceutical composition, specifically a pharmaceutically composition for treating nocturia. The inventors have assumed that inhibition of nocturnal activity of placental leucine aminopeptidase (P-LAP), i.e. aminopeptidase that cleaves AVP, would maintain and/or increase an endogenous AVP level to enhance the antidiuretic effect, which would contribute to a decreased number of nocturnal voids, and have extensively studied compounds which inhibit P-LAP. As a result, the inventors have found that (2R)-3-amino-2-{[4-(substituted pyridine)-2-yl]methyl}-2-hydroxy-propanoic acid derivatives have excellent P-LAP inhibitory activity. The inventors have evaluated antidiuretic effects in water-loaded rats and have found that the compounds increase endogenous AVP levels by inhibiting P-LAP and consequently reduce urine production. The present invention therefore provides compounds expected to be used as an agent for treating nocturia based on P-LAP inhibition.

This system has a field sequential signal generator for receiving and storing a color picture signal, which includes a plurality of signal components per field, at a first rate and sequentially sending the plurality of signal components, as a field sequential signal, at a second rate which is higher than the first rate; a picture display for displaying a monochromatic picture based on each of the signal components; a coloring device for coloring light emitted from the monochromatic picture displayed on the picture display; and a controller for sending a vertical sync signal, which includes a plurality of vertical sync pulses corresponding to the signal components respectively, to the picture display. The controller controls a timing at which each of the vertical sync pulses is sent to the picture display in such a way that respective time intervals between when the vertical sync pulse is sent from the controller to the picture display and when the signal component is sent from the field sequential signal generator to the picture display are equal.

System and method for displaying a color picture

In a color image display system formed of a monochromatic CRT or like image display device (102) having a screen (103) for display of images and a rotary filter (106) comprising color filter sections (106R, 106G and 106B) of a plurality of colors; image signals are read from memories (130R, 130G, 130B) at a rate higher than they are written in the memories, so as to reduce flickers. The problem of passing of the reading address over the writing address is solved by reading the image signal of prominent color taking a period in which the passing over occurs. High frequency components of other color image signals are extracted and added to the image signal of each color to thereby enhance the definition of the picture.

Video signal processor

A color image display apparatus utilizing a field sequential signal displays a picture normally without disturbance or deteriorating vertical resolution even when displaying an interlace image signal. The color image display apparatus is formed by a field sequential signal generator for converting a primary color signal to be interlaced into a field sequential signal, a monochrome image display apparatus for sequentially displaying a converted field sequential signal, a color apparatus 5 disposed to face a display screen of the monochrome image display apparatus to color a field sequential signal displayed on the display screen, and a control circuit for controlling timing of operations of these elements. A field judging result is supplied to the control circuit, and the control circuit operates so that a horizontal synchronizing signal of the field sequential signal is outputted continuously in a constant cycle even when an image signal to be interlaced is inputted. Even when displaying an interlace image signal, the color image display apparatus does not cause a picture disturbance or a brightness variation. The color image display apparatus outputs an excellent picture and is manufactured at a reduced cost.

An image pick-up apparatus, wherein a light emitting device sequentially emits a plurality of colors of light to a subject, a mono-color image pick-up element photo-electrically converts light reflected by or transmitted through the subject into color-field sequential signals, a memory stores the color-field sequential signals separately in connection with respective colors, and a convertor sequentially or simultaneously reads out the color-field sequential signals stored in connection with the respective colors in the memory and converts them into desired video signals of various color spaces. A color image display system includes a monochromatic CRT or similar image display device which includes a screen for display of images and a rotary filter having filter sections of a plurality of colors. The system further includes memories for storing color image signals corresponding to each of the colors. A control circuit reads the color image signals from the memories at a higher rate than the color image signals are written into the memories to reduce image flickering. The reading operation, however, passes over the writing operation. Discontinuities caused by this passing over are reduced by reading a color image signal corresponding to a less prominent color during the passing over. Discontinuities are avoided by providing an additional memory in the system and alternately reading and writing between one of the first set of memories and the additional memory. The system also adds to each color image signal read from a memory the extracted high frequency components from the other color image signals to enhance picture definition.

Color image display device

A rotary table unit having a stationary base element and a table element rotatably mounted on the stationary base element is provided with hydrostatic and hydrodynamic bearing guides forming a composite bearing guide mechanism for enabling smooth and stable rotation of the table element under application of local load to the table element. The rotary table unit is also provided with a main drive motor for rotating the table element and an auxiliary drive motor for supplementing a drive force of the main drive motor in response to a change in load applied to the table element.

A direct-acting table mechanism in which tables are driven without any contact by use of a hydrostatic fluid for thrust-transmitting the tables in their sliding direction. The tables are hydrostatically supported on hydrostatic guides on a bed, and differential pressures are supplied to the hydrostatically supporting portions to control the attitude of the tables. This table mechanism is of high degree of accuracy uninfluenced by errors in the feed screw system, high rigidity and thus permits highly stable fine feed.
