A multilayer ceramic capacitor includes a multilayer body including first and second dielectric layers, two main surfaces, two lateral surfaces, two end surfaces, and an inner layer portion including first and second internal electrodes laminated alternately therein with one of the dielectric layers interposed therebetween, outer dielectric layer portions that sandwich the inner layer portion in a lamination direction, and side gap portions that sandwich the inner layer portion and the outer layer portions in a width direction. The multilayer body includes first and second external electrodes connected to the first and second internal electrodes, respectively. The first external electrode includes a main surface electrode portion on at least one of the two main surfaces, and a lateral surface electrode portion connected to at least one lateral surface side end portion of each of the first internal electrodes and is covered with one of the side gap portions.

A multilayer ceramic capacitor includes end-surface external electrodes and side-surface external electrodes. The end-surface external electrodes are respectively provided at end surfaces of a multilayer body and are respectively connected to end-surface connecting internal electrodes. The side-surface external electrodes are respectively provided at the side surfaces of the multilayer body and respectively connected to side-surface connecting internal electrodes. The end-surface connecting internal electrodes each include end surface opposing portion opposing the side-surface connecting internal electrodeB adjacent in a lamination direction, and an end surface lead-out portion extending from the end surface opposing portion to one of the end-surface external electrodes. The side-surface connecting internal electrodes each include a side surface opposing portion opposing the end-surface connecting internal electrodes adjacent in the lamination direction, and a side surface lead-out portion extending from the side surface opposing portion to one of the side-surface external electrodes.

Multilayer ceramic capacitor with reduced equivalent series inductance

A multilayer ceramic capacitor includes a laminated body including dielectric layers and internal electrodes alternately laminated, and an external electrode provided on the surface of the laminated body and connected to the internal electrodes. The internal electrode includes a facing electrode portion facing another internal electrode with the dielectric layer provided therebetween, and an extended electrode portion extended from the facing electrode portion to the surface of the laminated body and connected to the external electrode. At least one layer of the internal electrodes includes a bent portion in the extended electrode portion. The distance between extended electrode portions adjacent to each other in the lamination direction narrows from the end portion of the facing electrode portion toward the bent portion, and widens from the bent portion toward the end portion of the extended electrode portion on the external electrode side.

Multilayer ceramic capacitor

External electrodes, electrically connected to exposed portions of internal electrodes, are arranged on end surfaces of a ceramic main body of a laminated ceramic capacitor. Alloy layers of a metal contained in internal electrodes, and a metal contained in external electrodes, are arranged at the boundaries between external electrodes, and the ceramic main body and internal electrodes. Plating layers are provided on surfaces of external electrodes. A ceramic electronic component having a reduced ESR is thus provided.

A ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body, a plurality of internal electrodes provided in the ceramic body and including ends exposed on a surface of the ceramic body; a glass coating layer covering a portion of the surface of the ceramic body on which the internal electrodes are exposed; and an electrode terminal provided directly on the glass coating layer and including a plating film. The glass coating layer is made of a glass medium in which metal powder particles are dispersed. The internal electrodes project from the surface of the ceramic body into the glass coating layer without passing through the glass coating layer. The metal powder particles define conduction paths electrically connecting the internal electrodes with the electrode terminal.

The ceramic base body includes first and second primary surfaces, first and second side surfaces, and first and second end surfaces. The first and second outer electrodes are arranged on the ceramic base body so that front end portions of the outer electrodes face each other. The first and the second outer electrodes include outermost layers each containing Cu. Outermost layers of the facing front end portions of the first and the second outer electrodes are more oxidized than outermost layers of the other portions of the first and the second outer electrodes.
