Provided are a gear train and a vehicle installing the gear train. The gear train is configured to transmit power from a rotating electrical machine to a driving wheel through a differential and a drive shaft. The gear train includes a plurality of shafts on a plurality of axes lying different from each other and a plurality of gears that is disposed respectively on the plurality of shafts. At least one of the plurality of gears is an internal gear.

The cooling apparatus uses oil to cool an electric motor whose output is transmitted to a drive shaft inserted into a motor shaft via a reduction gear and a differential gear. An oil seal seals the gap between the differential case of the differential gear and the outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft. An oil passage is formed inside the drive shaft. An oil introduction hole is formed in the drive shaft on the side of the differential gear with respect to the oil seal to introduce oil from the differential gear into the in-drive-shaft oil passage. An oil outlet hole is formed in the drive shaft on the side of the electric motor with respect to the oil seal to draw oil from the in-drive-shaft oil passage to the inside of the motor shaft.

Cooling apparatus for electric motor

A transaxle includes a planetary gear reducer and a differential device. The planetary gear reducer includes a stepped pinion, a first needle bearing, a second needle bearing, and a carrier. The stepped pinion includes a pinion shaft with which a large diameter pinion and a small diameter pinion are integrated. The first needle bearing is fitted to a part of the pinion shaft outside the large diameter pinion. The second needle bearing is fitted to a part of the pinion shaft outside the small diameter pinion. The carrier is configured to support the stepped pinion via the first needle bearing and the second needle bearing such that the stepped pinion is rotatable with respect to the carrier, and to couple the stepped pinion and the differential device.

Transaxle

A selectable one-way clutch includes: a pocket plate; a notch plate; an annular selector plate; an arm; and an actuator. An operating shaft is configured to move the arm along a circumferential direction of the selector plate so as to move the arm to an engagement position and to a non-engagement position. The operating shaft includes a slope portion inclined relative to a direction of a tangential line to the outer circumference of the selector plate. The slope portion is configured to move the selector plate to a position farther apart from the notch plate in a case where the arm is located at the non-engagement position than a position from the notch plate in a case where the arm is located at the engagement position.

Selectable one-way clutch

A drive unit of a hybrid vehicle includes an engine; an electric motor; first and second differential mechanisms; a selectable one-way clutch; and a case accommodating the electric motor. Further, the first differential mechanism includes a first rotational element coupled to the electric motor, a second rotational element coupled to the engine, and a third rotational element that outputs power toward drive wheels, the second differential mechanism includes a sun gear coupled to the electric motor, a carrier coupled to the engine, a ring gear whose rotation is regulated by the selectable one-way clutch, and a ring gear flange that rotates integrally with the ring gear, and the selectable one-way clutch switches a state thereof between a locked state and an unlocked state, and the ring gear flange is supported by a rotor shaft of the electric motor via a radial bearing.

Drive unit of hybrid vehicle

A selectable one-way clutch adapted to prevent an undesirable engagement is provided. The selectable one-way clutch comprises first spline teeth formed on a connecting portion of a notch plate connected to a rotary member; second spline teeth formed on the rotary member to be meshed with the first spline teeth; a first flank formed individually on the first spline teeth; and a second flank formed individually on the second spline teeth to be brought into contact to the first flank. The first flank and the second flank are individually set at a predetermined angle to establish a component of torque of the rotary member rotating the notch plate to isolate the notch plate away from the selector plate.

A stepless transmission includes: a transmission shaft; first to fourth power transmission elements; a plurality of rolling bodies clamped by the first and second power transmission elements disposed in confrontation with each other, and tiltably held by the fourth power transmission element; an axial force generator configured to generate axial force in an axial direction for pressing at least one of the first and second power transmission elements against the rolling bodies; and a transmission device configured to change a gear ratio between an input and output by tilting the rolling bodies. Young's moduli of a contact section and an additional contact section, in contact with the rolling body, of one of the first and second power transmission elements are larger than those of other one of the first and second power transmission elements.

Stepless transmission

A continuously variable transmission includes: a transmission shaft; first to fourth power transmission elements that have a first rotation center axis coaxial with the transmission shaft; a plurality of rolling members that has a second rotation center axis; a transmission device configured to change a gear ratio between an input side and an output side by tilting each of the rolling members; a rotary shaft that is coupled with one of the first and second power transmission elements, and is provided with a cylindrical section; an annular member that is coupled with the rotary shaft, and configured to form an annular oil reservoir formed of lubricating oil; and a scraping up section configured to scrape up the lubricating oil by rotating in the circumferential direction.

Continuously variable transmission

A continuously variable transmission includes a shaft, first and second rotary members, a sun roller, a carrier, planetary balls, a gear shifter for changing a gear ratio between input and output by tilting each of the planetary balls, a casing for accommodating these elements, and a lubricating oil supply opening for supplying lubricating oil into the casing. The casing includes a discharge opening for discharging the lubricating oil to the outside of the casing. The discharge opening is provided in a wall of the casing in an axial direction of the shaft and radially outside the lubricating oil supply opening. As seen in the axial direction, the discharge opening is formed either at a position that crosses a contact section between the planetary ball and each of the first and second rotary members or an auxiliary contact section, or radially outside the contact section or the auxiliary contact section.

Providing a vehicular power transmitting system which includes a torque limiter device and which is configured to reduce deterioration of durability of a rotary member disposed between an engine and the torque limiter device. An inertia moment of a first rotary portion of a torque limiter device about its axis (first axis RC) is smaller than an inertia moment of a second rotary portion about its axis (first axis RC), so that an inertia moment of rotary members between an input shaft and the first rotary portion can be reduced as compared with that where the above-indicated inertia moment is larger than the inertia moment. Accordingly, the torque which transiently acts on a rotary member disposed between the engine and the torque limiter device, for instance, acts on the input shaft, during an operation of the torque limiter device, that is, during a slipping motion of the first rotary portion and the second rotary portion can be reduced, so that the deterioration of durability of the input shaft can be reduced.
