The present invention provides a back sheet for a solar cell, the back sheet including a polymer base and a polymer layer that is disposed by coating on at least one surface of the polymer base material, the polymer layer including an amorphous colloidal silica and, as a binder, at least one of a polymer selected from a fluorine-based polymer or a silicone-based polymer, the polymer formed by coating having excellent uniformity and the back sheet having superior weather resistance compared to conventional back sheets.

The present invention provides a light-shielding film arranged in a display device and shading a part of a display screen as a part of a color filter, which film includes fine metallic compound particles having an average particle diameter of 60 to 3000 nm and a high-molecular-weight binder, and has an optical density of 2.0 or more in a light-shaded region.

A multilayer film is produced by forming a first and a second layers consecutively on at least one surface of a biaxially stretched polyester base. The first layer contains particles and a binder both composed mainly of either tin oxide, indium oxide, zirconium oxide, or titanium oxide. When the refractive indexes of the base, the first layer, and the second layer are represented by &#x3b7;, and &#x3b7;respectively, the first layer and the second layer are adjusted for the refractive index such that the differences |&#x3b7;| and |&#x3b7;| are both not greater than 0.03. Adhesive strength is therefore kept high between the base and the layers to eliminate light interference, and the multilayer film offers an excellent optical property with few color rainbow effect.

Method for forming liquid crystal display comprising manufacturing light-shielding film by applying coating liquid containing fine metal particles onto substrate and drying the same

The present invention provides a black matrix containing metal fine particles, wherein the volume fraction of the metal fine particles is in a range from 0.05 to 0.70. The volume fraction is preferably is in a range from 0.10 to 0.55, and more preferably in a range from 0.2 to 0.50. The invention also provides a method of manufacturing the black matrix. The method is preferably a method comprising: forming a recording material having a layer formed by applying and drying a coating liquid containing metal fine particles on a temporary support; and transferring the layer onto a substrate. Further, the invention also provides a method comprising the step of applying onto or above the substrate the coating liquid containing the metal fine particles and then drying the coating liquid. In each of the methods, the coating liquid can have photosensitivity.
