In a resin coated carrier for electrophotography comprising a coating material and a core material, in which the coating material covers the surface of the core material, the coating material contains a resin component and a conductive agent, the core material is ferrite, and electric resistance of the carrier at an applied voltage of 100 V set to be 1.0&#xd7;10to 1.0&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm, or breakdown voltage is set to be 120 to 280 V.

The present invention provides a toner for MICR suitable for use in a printer for a non-magnetic monocomponent developing system, which does not produce scratches on a developing sleeve when used in the printer for the non-magnetic monocomponent developing system and has a resistance against sliding friction with a magnetic head, and also causes no reading errors because of a proper signal strength and imparts satisfactory image characteristics (for example, with respect to image density and fogging). The toner comprises a binder resin, a magnetic material and a wax, and has a BET specific surface area within a range from 0.70 to 1.00 m /g.

A coating method for uniformly forming a monolayer powder film on a base material, even if fine powders having a volume average particle diameter of 15 &mgr;m or less are employed is disclosed. An adhesive layer consisting of an adhesive having a weight average molecular weight of 250,000 or more is formed on a base material, powders are adhered on the adhesive layer, the powders are embedded in a surface of the adhesive layer by impacts of granular pressure media, adhered surplus powders are removed from this laminate, and a monolayer powder film consisting of a large amount of powders embedded as a monolayer, so that part thereof protrudes from the adhesive layer, is thereby formed on a surface of the adhesive layer.

The powder coating of the present invention was used for a method for forming coatings comprising the steps of making the powder coating adhere to an adhesive layer previously formed on the surface of a material to be coated, and then heating it, thereby forming a coating, comprising a resin particle containing a thermosetting resin, and a particle containing a curing agent.

An object of the present invention to provide novel developing compositions for use in electrphotography which do not cause an adherence of ferrite carriers to the surface of a photoconductor while maintaining high definition and high picture quality of the picture image by using fine size ferrite carriers. The aforementioned developing compositions for use in elecrophotography comprise toners which contain a binding resin and colorant as main components, and ferrite carriers comprised of 5 to 40 mol % of ZnO and 60 to 95 mol % of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, and possess a saturated magnetization value of 70 to 100 emu/g in an applied magnetic field of 3000 oersted.
