A refrigeration cycle device includes a refrigeration cycle formed by connecting a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an evaporator to each other. As a refrigerant in the refrigeration cycle, a working fluid containing 1,1,2-trifluoroethylene (R1123) and difluoromethane (R32) is used. A degree of opening of the expansion valve is controlled such that the refrigerant has two phases at a suction portion of the compressor.

The present invention includes a refrigeration cycle circuit that includes compressor, indoor heat exchanger, expansion valve, and outdoor heat exchanger that are connected to each other. A working fluid containing R1123 (1,1,2-trifluoroethylene) and R32 (difluoromethane) is used as a refrigerant sealed in the refrigeration cycle circuit, and an electric motor driving device that drives an electric motor of compressor includes a rotational speed estimator. The rotational speed estimator estimates rotational speed based on information on a detection value of an electric current input to the electric motor or a magnetic pole position of a rotor that constitutes the electric motor.

A compressor uses a refrigerant containing R1123 (1,1,2-trifluoroethylene) as a working fluid, and uses a polyol ester oil as a compressor lubricating oil. In addition, a fixed scroll and a revolving scroll each having a spiral lap rising from an end plate, and a compression chamber which is formed by meshing the fixed scroll and the revolving scroll, are provided. In addition, a discharge hole which is provided at a center position of the end plate of the fixed scroll, and is open to a discharge chamber, a bypass hole which is provided in the end plate of the fixed scroll, and communicates with the compression chamber and the discharge chamber at a timing different from a timing at which the compression chamber communicates with the discharge hole, and a check valve which is provided in the bypass hole, and allows a flow from the compression chamber side to the discharge chamber side.

An air conditioner includes a refrigerant charge port provided in an outdoor liquid-side connection valve or an outdoor gas-side connection valve, a liquid-side valve provided between the outdoor liquid-side connection valve and an expansion valve, and a gas-side valve between the indoor gas-side connection valve and a compressor. When an outdoor unit and indoor unit are separated, the liquid-side and gas-side valves are closed, and a refrigerant is charged into an outdoor connection pipe that is closed by the liquid-side valve and the gas-side valve. A control unit is adapted to close the refrigerant charge port, and then open the liquid-side valve and the gas-side valve when a pressure detector detects a predetermined degree of vacuum.

In an air conditioner using a flammable refrigerant of the present invention, an inner diameter of a liquid-side connecting pipe is reduced to less than 42.5% of that of a gas-side connecting pipe. By reducing the inner diameter of the pipe in which a liquid refrigerant of the air conditioner is reduced, it is possible to reduce the amount of refrigerant to be charged into the system without decreasing the capacity and the efficiency.

In an apparatus having a refrigeration cycle, the refrigeration cycle is formed by annularly connecting a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device and an evaporator with one another, the apparatus uses propane, isobutane or ethane as a refrigerant, and uses refrigerating machine oil having less mutual solubility with the refrigerant, and a dryer is provided in the refrigeration cycle for absorbing water. In stead of the dryer, an additive which reacts with water may be included in said refrigerating machine oil. With this arrangement, the amount of the refrigerant can be reduced, and the long term reliability of the apparatus can be obtained.

An explosion preventing device for a refrigerating machine using a flammable refrigerant according to a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a mesh member which covers a part or component or a control section. The mesh member has a mesh size which is equal to or smaller than a quenching distance for the flammable refrigerant used. By covering the part or the like which may generate electric sparks, with the mesh member having the mesh size equal to or smaller than a quenching distance, as described above, even if the sparks are generated to produce flames, when the refrigerant is leaked, the flames cannot be propagated to the outside of the mesh member. With this structure, it is possible to provide a method for taking custody of, transporting and installing an apparatus having a refrigeration cycle in which safety is assured when the apparatus having the refrigeration cycle is being transported or kept in custody, the efficiency of the disposing operation is enhanced, and a problem such as deterioration of performance is not generated.

In a compressor of a refrigeration cycle using an HC-based refrigerant and a lubricant having specific gravity greater than that of the HC-based refrigerant and having no or no or less mutual solubility with the HC-based refrigerant, an oil reservoir is formed on a bottom of the compressor, the oil reservoir is provided at its portion with a recess, a suction port of a lubricant suction pipe for supplying the lubricant to a compressor mechanism is provided in the recess. A manufacturing method for an air conditioner including the steps of: (a) assembling a refrigeration cycle by connecting an outdoor unit, which has a compressor containing a refrigerant and an outdoor heat exchanger to a dummy indoor unit, and a part including a moisture adsorbent, using connection piping; (b) operating the refrigeration cycle by either an intermittent heating operation or switching between cooling and heating operations to adsorb moisture contained in the refrigeration cycle using a moisture adsorbent; (c) disconnecting the part including the moisture adsorbent after adsorbing moisture from the refrigeration cycle, and (d) measuring the water content contained in the moisture adsorbent, to control the water contained in the outdoor unit.

In a refrigeration cycle using a flammable refrigerant as a refrigerant and comprising an indoor heat exchanger, an outdoor heat exchanger, a compressor and an expansion device which are annularly connected to one another through pipes, the refrigeration cycle is provided with a gas sensor and a refrigerant discharge portion, the gas sensor monitors leakage of the refrigerant from the refrigeration cycle to outside, and after the leakage is detected by the gas sensor, the discharge portion is opened to discharge the refrigerant to outside. At that time, the gas sensor is disposed inside a room, and the discharge portion is disposed outside the room. Further, the discharge portion is provided with a fan to facilitate the dispersion of the refrigerant. Further, the discharge portion is provided with a burner portion to discharge out the refrigerant while burning the refrigerant. With the above structure, the leakage of a flammable refrigerant is monitored, and after the leakage is detected, the refrigerant is positively discharged to the safe atmosphere, e.g., to the side of an outdoor unit, and even if the refrigerant is leaked at the side of an indoor unit, it is possible to suppress the leakage to a certain level.
