According to one embodiment, a sensor includes a housing, a sensor portion, and a film member. The housing includes a first housing member including an opening. The first housing member includes a first inner face, and a first side face inside the opening. The sensor portion includes a sensor member including a hole, and a sensor element. A first gap is provided between the sensor element and the sensor member. The film member is porous. The film member includes an inner region and an outer region around the inner region. The outer region faces the first inner face. The sensor member is located between the sensor element and the inner region. The sensor member faces the inner region. At least a part of the inner region overlaps the first side face in a second direction crossing a first direction from the sensor element to the sensor member.

The present embodiment provides a partial discharge measurement apparatus configured to detect partial discharge generated in a rotating electrical machine supplying or receiving power via an insulated conductor, where the apparatus comprises a calibration signal generator, a sensor, a compensation processor, and a signal processor. The calibration signal generator is configured to supply a calibration signal to a surface of an insulating layer of the insulated conductor. The sensor is configured to measure a physical quantity regarding the partial discharge. The compensation processor is configured to use an output signal of the sensor when the calibration signal has been supplied to generate a compensation coefficient. The signal processor is configured to process the output signal of the sensor based on the compensation coefficient.

Partial discharge measurement apparatus, partial discharge measurement method, and partial discharge measurement system

According to one embodiment, an insulation diagnostic system comprising: a peak-value acquisition circuit configured to acquire at least one peak value of a section corresponding to local discharge of a voltage signal acquired by at least one sensor that detects the voltage signal in a non-contact manner; a function acquisition circuit configured to acquire a calculation function for calculating charge amount related to the discharge based on at least two peak values acquired from the voltage signal that is detected by the sensor by applying a test voltage to a rotating electrical machine while the rotating electrical machine is stopped; and a charge-amount calculation circuit configured to calculate the charge amount related to partial discharge of the rotating electrical machine based on the calculation function and the peak value obtained from the voltage signal that is detected by the sensor during operation of the rotating electrical machine.

According to one embodiment, a sensor includes a base body, a first movable structure body, and a first fixed structure body. The first movable structure body includes first movable electrodes. A direction from the base body toward the first movable electrodes is aligned with a first direction. A distance between the base body and the plurality of first movable electrodes is changeable. A direction from one of the first movable electrodes toward an other one of the first movable electrodes is aligned with a second direction crossing the first direction. The first fixed structure body includes first fixed electrodes. One of the first fixed electrodes is between the one of the first movable electrodes and the other one of the first movable electrodes. A first movable electrode length along the first direction is shorter than a first fixed electrode length along the first direction.

Sensor with fixed and movble components

An object of the present invention is to solve problems in terms of stagnation of research on norovirus by providing a cultured transgenic cell or a transgenic animal in which murine norovirus (MNV) can be grown across the barrier of host specificity in mammalian cells, and providing a screening method that uses the cultured transgenic cell or the transgenic animal. The present inventors have found that MNV infection is determined in a cultured transgenic mammalian cell or a mammal possessing the cultured transgenic mammalian cell as its own cell, the cultured transgenic mammalian cell containing one or more species selected from the entirety or a portion of the murine CD300F gene and/or a CD300 family gene having an extracellular domain nucleotide sequence similar to that of the murine CD300F gene. The present inventors have solved the aforementioned problems by providing, for example, a norovirus-related drug screening method on the basis of this finding.

According to one embodiment, an electronic device includes a base region, an element portion located on the base region, the element portion including a movable portion, and a protective film overlying the element portion and forming a cavity on an inner side of the protective film. The protective film includes a first protective layer and a second protective layer located on the first protective layer. A hole extends in a direction parallel to a main surface of the base region, and the second protective layer covers the hole.

Electronic device using MEMS technology

According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording medium with high magnetic recording characteristics and improved corrosion resistance is obtained. The magnetic recording medium includes a substrate, an orientation control layer provided on the substrate and made from a Ni alloy or an Ag alloy, a nonmagnetic seed layer provided to be in contact with the orientation control layer, a perpendicular magnetic recording layer containing Fe or Co and Pt as main components. The nonmagnetic seed layer is formed of Ag particles, Ge grain boundaries and a compound X, and the compound X is selected from an oxide, nitride or carbide of aluminum, titanium, chromium, silicon and tantalum and also distributed in both the Ag particles and Ge grain boundaries.

According to one embodiment, a method of manufacturing a device is provided. A amorphous metal layer is formed. A metal layer containing metal and having a crystal plane oriented to a predetermined plane is formed on the amorphous metal layer. A first layer containing semiconductor including silicon, and metal identical to the metal contained in the metal layer is formed on the metal layer. The first layer is changed to a second layer containing a compound of the semiconductor and the metal, the compound having a crystal plane oriented to the predetermined plane.
