A printing apparatus includes a carriage mounted with a printing unit configured to perform printing on a print medium, a first motor used to move the carriage, a second motor used together with the first motor to move the carriage, and a control unit configured to control the first motor and the second motor. When moving the carriage, the control unit controls the first motor with a first control amount and controls the second motor with a second control amount. The first control amount and the second control amount are different from each other, and a ratio therebetween is a predetermined ratio.

Printing apparatus, carriage apparatus, and control method

A printing apparatus includes a carriage mounted with a printing unit, a belt, a first motor configured to drive the belt at one end in a widthwise direction, a second motor configured to drive the belt at the other end in the widthwise direction, and a control unit configured to control the first motor and the second motor. The control unit performs first control by driving the first motor in which the carriage moves from a state in which the carriage is stopped. In the control, the second motor is controlled from a first state in which its torque is lower than that of the first motor to a second state in which its torque is higher than that in the first state.

Printing apparatus and carriage apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a carriage mounted with a printing unit; a first motor configured to move the carriage in a predetermined direction; a second motor configured to move the carriage in the predetermined direction; and a control unit. A printing apparatus comprises a sheet eject tray; a movable guide arranged on an upstream side of the sheet eject tray with respect to a direction of conveyance of a sheet and being configured to be able to move to a protruding position and a retracted position; and a driving mechanism configured to cause the movable guide to move to the protruding position when a leading edge of a sheet is conveyed along the movable guide and cause the movable guide to move to the retracted position when a trailing edge of a sheet is conveyed along the movable guide, wherein the protruding position includes a first position at which the movable guide presses a sheet to the sheet eject tray and a second position between the first position and the retracted position.

Printing apparatus

A discharge apparatus includes a discharge unit configured to discharge a liquid to a medium, a suction unit, and a supply unit configured to supply a gas to the suction unit. The suction unit includes an opening facing the medium, and a suction groove including an arc-shaped inner wall surface inside the opening and configured to suck mist around the medium. An outlet portion configured to blow out the gas supplied from the supply unit toward the inner wall surface is provided in the opening.

Discharge apparatus and suction unit

An apparatus connected to a printhead has two states and switches between them. In the first state, ink is circulated in a channel of supplying ink from a tank that reserves ink to respective print elements via a common supply fluid channel and a plurality of individual supply fluid channels, and collecting the ink from the respective print elements to the tank via a plurality of individual collection fluid channels and a common collection fluid channel. In the second state, the ink is circulated in a channel of supplying the ink from the tank to the respective print elements via the common collection fluid channel and the plurality of individual collection fluid channels, and collecting the ink from the respective print elements to the tank via the plurality of individual supply fluid channels and the common supply fluid channel.

A collection unit configured to collect ink mist generated due to a discharge of ink from a head configured to discharge the ink includes a filter for capturing the ink mist and a liquid supply portion configured to supply a liquid to the filter.

Inkjet apparatus and collection apparatus

A sheet conveyance apparatus for winding a sheet around a rotator, pulling the sheet wound around the rotator, and sending out the sheet includes a guiding unit that guides a sheet side end pulled from the rotator. The guiding unit forms a slack in the outer periphery of the sheet wound around the rotator, and guides the side end of the sheet sent from the rotator.
