When cross-sectionally viewing on a cross-section including the first direction and a display direction, a curved surface conforming to first main surface of the first substrate facing the second substrate includes at least one inflection point in a region surrounded by the seal, and tangent planes of the curved surface at each inner peripheral end of the seal are parallel to each other.

A touch panel includes a first substrate, a cover that is formed from glass and that is overlaid on the first substrate, and a first adhesive layer that adheres the first substrate to the cover. The first substrate includes a base that is formed from glass and that includes a detection region and a surrounding region surrounding the detection region, a plurality of first electrodes that is disposed in the detection region of a first main surface of the base, and that extends in a first direction, and an organic thin film that is formed on the first main surface of the base, and that covers the plurality of first electrodes. The first adhesive layer directly adheres the organic thin film to the cover, and the surrounding region of the first main surface of the base to the cover.

Touch panel and display device

A display device includes a liquid crystal display including a first liquid crystal display panel that displays a character or an image; a decorative member; and a controller that controls the display of the liquid crystal display. The decorative member is disposed on a display surface side of the liquid crystal display, and includes a display region in which the display of the liquid crystal display is transparently displayed, and a non-display region adjacent to the display region. The controller controls a luminance through the decorative member of a black display of the liquid crystal display to a luminance invisible to a user, and controls the luminance through the decorative member of a low-gradation region, except for the black display, of the liquid crystal display to a luminance visible to the user.
