A gap is present between the interior of the pressure vessel and the exterior of the water electrolytic cell to form a water pressure regulating chamber, and water of a preselected pressure can be fed into the water pressure regulating chamber such that the pressure differential between the pressure inside the water electrolytic cell and the pressure inside the water pressure regulating chamber is maintained within the pressure differential tolerance range of the water electrolytic cell.

A press device which is reduced in overall height thereof and in deformation of a press frame and can sufficiently support an eccentric load thereto. The press device comprises a press force generating unit disposed in a press frame and including a lid member secured to the press frame, a cross head having a cylinder chamber in which the lid member is fitted for axial sliding movement and having a blank holder at an end face thereof remote from the lid member, and a pressurizing member fitted for axial sliding movement in a portion of the cylinder chamber remote from the lid member. A shaping element is disposed in the press frame in an opposing relationship to the press force generating unit and has a shaping portion in which the pressurizing member is fitted. A guide element is connected to the cross head for guiding the cross head for axial sliding movement, and a cross head actuating device is connected to the cross head for axially moving the cross head under the guidance of the guide element independently of the pressurizing member.

Press device

A cooling device for a high pressure vessel which is simple in construction and high in safety and has a high cooling faculty without the necessity of changing a design of the high pressure vessel. The cooling device has a cylindrical cooling medium jacket having a cooling medium passage formed therein. The cooling medium jacket is removably disposed in a high pressure chamber of the high pressure vessel between the high pressure vessel and an insulation mantle surrounding a heater in the high pressure chamber such that a gap may be left between the high pressure vessel and the cooling medium jacket. The cooling medium jacket has a passage hole formed therein for establishing communication between the gap and the high pressure chamber to allow pressure medium to be introduced into the gap. The cooling device further includes a pressure medium supply means provided in the gap for introducing therethrough pressure medium different from the pressure medium for the HIP process to support THE cooling medium jacket with a hydraulic pressure of the different pressure medium.

An ultra-high pressure solid pressing machine of the type having a pair of upper and lower platens mounted in a press frame and movable relatively toward and away from each other, a mold unit interposed between the upper and lower platens and including at least a cylindrical cavity for receiving raw material therein, upper and lower conical surfaces formed around the upper and lower ends of the cylindrical cavity, and upper and lower anvils fitted respectively in the upper and lower conical surfaces through a gasket to compress the raw material in the cylindrical cavity under an ultra-high pressure, characterized in that the pressing machine includes a plurality of mold units stacked one on another between the upper and lower platens through insulators with axes of cylindrical cavities of the respective mold units being in vertical alignment with each other and a current supply control separately connected to the mold units.

A hot isostatic press apparatus wherein a material to be processed such as preliminarily shaped metal powder is charged into a high pressure vessel provided with a heater and the material to be processed is pressed by superhigh pressure of fluid or gas sealed into the vessel and heating by a heater. The apparatus includes a main station including a high pressure vessel, a movable cover, a member for moving the material to be processed; one or more auxiliary stations including an inserting station, a preheating station, a removing station, etc.; a sealed tank; and transfer mechanisms for the material to be processed. A high pressure apparatus in which a support frame which undergoes axial tension includes a divided body composed of first and second support frames, the first and second support frames being brought into engagement with each other at an outward area in a diametrical direction of upper and lower covers and being freely changed in position between the engaging position and a position separated from each other. Either one or both of the upper and lower covers are provided with a member which extends outwardly in an axial direction so that products may be removed from a cylindrical high pressure container.

A method for manufacturing an integrated wheel for a vehicle, on which a tire is mounted, by a combination of die forging work, press spreading work and rotative ironing work, the method including the steps of integrally molding by die forging work a disc of the wheel and a thick tubular portion whose outer peripheral surface is made approximately parallel to the axial direction of the wheel through the root portion enlarged in the outer peripheral edge of the disc in the diametrically outward direction; performing the work for spreading both axial end edges of the thick tube portion in the diametrically outward direction by means of a press and work for pressing a rotative ironing tool against the axial intermediate portion of the thick tubular portion carried out after or prior to said spreading step; allowing the material to escape in a direction opposite the travelling direction of the rotative ironing tool in the subsequent step during pressing; and thereafter pressing the rotative ironing tool against the pressed portion to move the tool in the other axial direction by the pressed portion for rotative ironing to draw the other axial portion.

An improved multiple roller spinning machine for spinning vehicle one-piece wheels is disclosed in which the roller holder is capable of sliding in a direction parallel with the axis of spinning and has a hydraulic cylinder which moves through its axially movable piston rod the holder horizontally thereby bringing the multiple rollers sequentially in to an operating position just above the wheel material clamped between the dies of the driving and driven spindles. Each of the multiple rollers is coupled to a control hydraulic cylinder which drives through its piston the respective roller vertically between a retracted position and a drawing position where the roller is pressed against the periphery of the wheel material. Thus, not only can the sequence of different drawing steps, in a most preferable embodiment, from rough to finishing drawing, be completed in an automatic continued manner, but also operation of the hydraulic cylinder to shift the holder, with the particular roller pressed against the material periphery being set in spinning, causes the roller to draw a wider range than its size across the U-cross section portion of the periphery. According to another embodiment, the holder carries therein multiple rows of different forming rollers arranged radially about a common center such that the wheel material can be subject to drawing by multiple rollers simultaneously applied at different points about the material periphery.

Described herein is a method for shaping aluminum wheels, which comprises the steps of: (A) supporting opposite rim portions of a cylindrical forging aluminum work substantially of H-shape in section by means of spinning dies, and subjecting the work to primary spinning including press-shaping by a work-stretching first spinning roller and preliminary spinning by a second spinning roller; (B) flaring the inner end of the rim; (C) annealing the work to remove the work-hardening resulting from the flaring operation; and (D) subjecting the work to secondary spinning including final spinning by the second spinning roller and corner R-finishing by a third spinning roller.
