A heat plate for fixation includes: a metallic base plate; and a heating resistor arranged on a reverse face of the metallic base plate, the heating resistor being formed by laminating, at least, an electric insulating layer and heating resistor layer in this order on the metallic base plate, wherein the heat plate is capable of raising the temperature of the metallic base plate to a fixing temperature when the heating resistor layer is energized and heated. A semicircular heating member for fixation includes the heat plate which is curved so that the metallic base plate has a convex surface, a belt type fixing device is provided with the semicircular heating member, and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus is provided with the belt type fixing device having the semicircular heating member.

Ink jet head providing improved printing resolution and printing speed

A piezoelectric type ink-jet printing head including a pressure chamber plate having a plurality of pressure chambers and a plurality of ink supply ports for supplying ink into the respective pressure chambers, a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzles and a piezoelectric element having a surface, at least parts thereof defining a plurality of displacement portion. The nozzle plate is attached to one of the surfaces of the pressure chamber plate, in such a manner that the respective nozzles are connected to the respective pressure chambers. The other surface of the pressure chamber plate is attached to the piezoelectric element, in such a manner that each of the displacement portions of the piezoelectric element defines at least one of walls of each of the pressure chambers.

A piezoelectric fluid pump includes a stationary pump base and a plurality of piezoelectric elements arranged in parallel on the stationary pump base, each of the piezoelectric elements having, in a polarizing direction thereof or in a direction perpendicular to the polarizing direction, a first end fixed to the stationary pump base and a free, second end. The free, second ends of respective pairs of adjacent the piezoelectric elements are connected to each other, for respective units of the fluid pump. Between the pair of piezoelectric elements and between the stationary pump base and the connecting means, pressure chambers are defined. There are gaps are between walls of the piezoelectric elements and walls of piezoelectric elements of adjacent units.

The present invention provides a print head control device for a wire dot printer, capable of preventing the occurrence of ghost dots to enable the wire dot printer to print characters and the like with a high print quality. The print head control device comprises a print head driving circuit for charging and discharging piezoelectric elements to advance and retract a printing wire, and a print head control circuit for controlling the print head driving circuit. The print head control circuit comprises dot detecting units for deciding if a dot to be printed in the next printing cycle is a single dot, the head dot of a row of consecutive dots, the last dot of a row of consecutive dots or an intermediate dot of a row of consecutive dots, charging/discharging period setting units for setting discharge periods respectively for printing a single dot, the head dot of a row of consecutive dots, the last dot of a row of consecutive dots and an intermediate dot of a row of consecutive dots, and a control unit for controlling piezoelectric element charging and discharging operation according to a set discharging period and a set discharging period.

Piezoelectric print head control device using adjacent dot data

A printing head including a plurality of impact printing wires constituting a dot matrix and a plurality of actuators for respectively and selectively driving the printing wires. Each actuator is constituted of a movable member to which the printing wire corresponding thereto is connected, a base member, a piezoelectric device mounted on the base member, and first and second leaf springs. The first leaf spring is connected between the movable member and the piezoelectric device, and the second leaf spring is connected between the movable member and the base member in parallel relationship to the first leaf spring. Each of the first and second leaf springs has a shape such that it is narrowest at the central portion thereof and is gradually widened toward the opposite ends thereof. Owing to this shape, a stress generating at the opposite ends of each leaf spring can be reduced to thereby prevent breakage of each leaf spring.

Printing head of wire-dot impact printer

A Fleming-type ink jet head in which a group of electrodes constituting one of two rows of a plurality of pairs of electrodes for causing currents to flow across ink channels are integrally formed for the purpose of improving the accuracy with which the pairs of electrodes are relatively positioned as well as reducing the manufacture cost. The resistance between each of the pairs of electrodes is detected and the width or magnitude of a pulse current caused to flow between the electrodes is controlled based on the data of this detection, thereby preventing a deterioration in printing quality due to the non-uniformity of the resistance. Also, the width or magnitude of current pulse is controlled with respect to the positions of the channels to compensate for the non-uniformity of the magnetic field intensity through the channels stacked between magnets, whereby a deterioration in printing quality due to the non-uniformity of the magnetic field intensity is prevented. A circuit for heating the ink in the channels is provided to prevent a deterioration in printing quality due to a change in the viscosity of the ink.

Fleming-type ink jet head

An apparatus for driving a printing head of a wire-dot printer, the head including a plurality of electroexpansive elements for driving respective printing wires cooperatively constituting a wire-dot matrix and in accordance with print pattern data designating the existence, or non-existence, of a dot to be printed by the respective, plural dot-impact printing wires in each of a succession of print cycles. Each electroexpansive element, selectively, is expanded and shrunk by an electrical charge/discharge, thereby to move the respective printing wire and perform a dot printing operation. The time intervals T1 and T2 respectively for the charge and discharge in each of a succession of printing cycles are: in the case of continuous dots, T1=A, T2=B' for the first dot, T1=A', T2=B' for successive dots intermediate the first and the last dots, and T1=A', T2=B for the last dot of the continuous dots, and in the case of a single dot, T1=A, T2=B, wherein A&gt;A', and B&gt;B'.

Apparatus for driving printing head of wire-dot impact printer

A printing head includes a plurality of printing members constituting a dot matrix, and a plurality of actuators for driving the printing members, respectively. Each of the actuators comprises a resiliently movable member having one end to which the printing member is connected and the other end fixedly secured to a head base. An electro-distortion device can be used for exerting a displacement of the movable member, to enlarge the displacement at the one end and drive a printing member. The movable member is shaped substantially, between an actuating position and a fixing point, as one or more triangles, in a face of the flat material, in such a manner that the base and peak of the triangles are located substantially at the fixing and actuating positions, respectively.

Piezoelectric driver of wire-dot impact printer

An apparatus for driving a printing head of a wire-dot printer, the head including a plurality of electroexpansive elements for driving respective printing wires cooperatively constituting a wire-dot matrix and in accordance with print pattern data designating the existence, or non-existence, of a dot to be printed by the respective, plural dot-impact printing wires in each of a succession of print cycles. A printing head includes a plurality of impact printing wires constituting a dot matrix and a plurality of actuators respectively corresponding to, and for selectively driving the printing members. Each actuator comprises a movable member to which a printing wire is connected, an electro-distortion device, first and second parallel resilient members and an electro-distortion device. The first resilient member is connected with the electro-distortion device between the frame and the movable member and the second resilient member is connected directly between the frame and the movable member so that the extent of longitudinal expansion and contraction of the electro-distortion device, produced by application of an electrical voltage thereto, is enlarged by the movable member and transmitted thereby to the printing wire. A third resilient member is arranged substantially perpendicularly to the first and second resilient members and connects the movable member to the frame.
