An antistatic agent containing a cationic and/or amphoteric, water-soluble or water-dispersible and heat-reactive blocked urethane prepolymer as an essential component, said prepolymer having at least one cationic group and/or at least one amphoteric group in its molecule and having isocyanate groups blocked with a thermally dissociable blocking agent. The antistatic agent is applicable to various materials and can give the antistatic property with the water repellency, which can be kept for a long term, to the materials.

There is provided a method of finishing a cellulosic fiber-containing textile product with a resin bath based on a water-soluble urethane prepolymer. This treatment provides for improvements in dry and wet creased crease resistance and wash-and-wear properties of cellulosic fiber-containing textile products.

A process for improving the abrasion resistance of textile belts without decreasing the flexibility and with a good workability, which comprises applying an aqueous composition comprising a water soluble or dispersible, thermally reactive blocked urethane prepolymer to textile belts, and then subjecting the textile belts to heat treatment, thereby converting the blocked urethane prepolymer into a high molecular weight urethane resin.
