A gas sensor element has a solid electrolyte body of oxygen ionic conductivity, a target gas electrode and a reference gas electrode formed on both surfaces of the solid electrolyte body, respectively, a porous diffusion resistance layer, and a catalyst support trap layer. The porous diffusion resistance layer covers the target gas electrode and through which target gases to be measured are passing. The catalyst support trap layer is formed on the outer surface of the porous diffusion resistance layer and supports noble metal catalyst. In the gas sensor element, the noble metal catalyst is made of platinum, rhodium, palladium supported in the catalyst support trap layer. In particular, an addition amount of palladium in the total amount of the noble metal catalyst is within a range of 2 to 65 wt %.

Gas sensor element

Provided is a multilayer gas sensing element having a high measurement accuracy and less susceptible to a leakage current. The element comprises an oxygen pump cell for adjusting an oxygen concentration in a measured gas chamber, a sensor cell for detecting a specified gas concentration in the measured gas chamber, and a heater for heating the cells up to an activating temperature. The heater includes a heat generator for generating heat when energized, a heater terminal provided externally and a heater lead for making electrical connection therebetween. When the electrical resistance value of the heat generator is taken as RH and the electrical resistance value of the heater lead is taken as RL, these values are set to satisfy the relationship of 1.5&#x2266;RH/RL.

Gas sensing element

The oxygen concentration detector of the present invention includes a sensor element having a solid electrolyte and having an external electrode and an internal electrode provided on the external surface and the internal surface, respectively, and a heater provided adjacent to the internal surface of the sensor element, in which a high-emissivity layer consisting of a material having a high emissivity is provided on the internal surface of the sensor element and/or the surface of the heater.

Oxygen concentration detector

In order to raise accuracy of measurement, a compound layered type of sensing device is provided. The device comprises a plurality of solid electrolyte plates and first to third electrochemical cells. Each cell has a single pair of electrodes disposed on the solid electrolyte plates. A concentration of a gas specified from a gas to be measured pre-processed based on oxygen pumping by the first electrochemical cell is detected by the second electrochemical cell. A difference in electromotive force between the gas to be measured and a reference gas is detected by the third electrochemical cell. The single pair of electrodes of the third electrochemical cell is disposed on the same surface of one of the solid electrolyte plates, and both of the first and third electrochemical cells are located with different ones of the solid electrolyte plates.

Compound layered type of sensing device for multiple measurement

A heater control apparatus used for a gas concentration sensor heats a sensor element including a solid electrolyte body up to a desired activation temperature. The heater control apparatus determines an actual resistance value of the sensor element, controls a power supply to the heater as a function of a difference between the actual resistance value and a target one, determines a power supplied to the heater, and determines a reference resistance value of the sensor element based on a predetermined fundamental relation between a power used in the heater and a resistance value of the sensor element to correct the target resistance value as a function of a difference between the reference resistance value and the actual resistance value.

Power supply control system for heater used in gas sensor

A sea-land-sky craft capable of navigating on the water, running on the land and flying in the air (that is, climbing vertically, flying horizontally and hovering in the air) usable in a new transportation system 1. The sea-land-sky craft comprises rotating wings rotatable in opposite directions on their centers. Mounting shafts are disposed at positions eccentric to the centers of the rotating wings and mount the rotating wings so that the orientation of the rotating wings can be turned. A cylindrical duct encloses the outer circumferences of the maximum diameters of the rotations of the rotating wings. A fuselage is located at a central portion of the craft. Movable struts are provided for connecting the cylindrical duct and the fuselage. In the sea-land-sky craft, the cylindrical duct is deformed into a fixed wing by the actions of the movable struts.

Sea-land-sky craft

A NO gas detecting apparatus including an oxygen pumping cell for removing oxygen from a measurement gas, and a NO detecting cell positioned downstream from the oxygen pumping cell to detect concentration of NO in the measurement gas, the NO detecting cell being configured to measure current which flows when oxygen generated from reducing NO is pumped, wherein the NO detecting cell has a NO detecting cathode made of an electrode material including at least one alloy selected from the group consisting of a Pt-Pd alloy, a Pt-Au-Pd alloy, and a Pt-Pd-Rh alloy.

NOx gas detecting apparatus

An objective gas to be measured is introduced into first and second chambers which are connected via a diffusion resistive passage. A first electrochemical cell is provided in the first chamber for pumping in and out oxygen in accordance with an applied voltage. A second electrochemical cell is provided in the second chamber and responsive to application of a predetermined voltage for generating a sensor current representing a specific gas concentration in the objective gas. The first electrochemical cell is located between the first chamber and a reference gas chamber so that oxygen pumping in and out operation can be performed between the first chamber and the reference gas chamber.

Multilayered gas sensing element employable in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine

A gas sensor includes a body having a measurement-gas chamber and a reference-gas chamber. The measurement-gas chamber is supplied with a measurement gas. The reference-gas chamber is supplied with a reference gas. A detecting cell provided in the body includes (1) a solid electrolyte member, (2) a measuring electrode provided on the solid electrolyte member and facing the measurement-gas chamber, and (3) a reference electrode provided on the solid electrolyte member and facing the reference-gas chamber. A heater portion operates for heating the detecting cell. The heater portion includes (1) a first substrate, (2) a heating member provided on the first substrate, (3) a high-voltage-side lead portion provided on the first substrate and electrically connected to the heating member, (4) a low-voltage-side lead portion provided on the first substrate and electrically connected to the heating member, and (5) a second substrate covering the heating member. The first substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other. The first surface of the first substrate faces the body. The heating member extends on the first surface of the first substrate. The high-voltage-side lead portion extends on the second surface of the first substrate.

Gas sensor

A composite gas sensor comprises a pump cell, a NOx sensor cell and an oxygen sensor cell. The NOx sensor cell is connected to a first ammeter and a constant power source to measure the NOx concentration of a sample gas. The pump cell is connected to a second ammeter and a variable power source to measure an air-fuel ratio of the sample gas. The oxygen sensor cell is connected to a voltmeter. A controller adjusts the variable power source to produce a constant value from the voltmeter.

Composite gas sensor

A gas sensing element having a sample gas chamber into which a sample gas is introduced, and a reference gas chamber into which a reference gas is introduced. A sensor cell detects a specific gas concentration in the sample gas chamber. An oxygen pump cell pump cell pumps oxygen gas from or to the sample gas chamber. An introducing passage includes at least one pinhole provided on a surface of the oxygen pump cell for introducing the measuring gas into the sample gas chamber. The surface of the oxygen pump cell faces an outside of the gas sensing element. And, a porous diffusion resistive layer is provided on the surface of the oxygen pump cell so as to cover a portion corresponding to the introducing passage, thus serving to reduce or eliminate the effects of temperature dependency upon gas sensor output for properly sized and machine pinholes.

Gas sensing element and a method for measuring a specific gas concentration

An air-fuel ratio sensing element comprises a cup-shaped solid electrolyte with one end opened and the other end closed, an external electrode provided on an outer wall surface of the solid electrolyte so as to be exposed to measured gas, and an internal electrode provided on an inner wall surface of the solid electrolyte in a confronting relationship to the external electrode. A first insulating layer, made of a gas-permeable and nonconductive porous material, is provided on the external electrode at least in a region used for detecting of an air-fuel ratio. A second insulating layer is provided outside the first insulating layer and, a heater layer as provided between the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer.

Air-fuel ratio sensor

An oxygen sensor element for detecting an oxygen concentration, the oxygen sensor includes a solid electrolyte; a porous film covering the solid electrolyte at the gas-measuring side; and a reaction electrode provided on the porous film; wherein the porous film includes ceramic particles and metallic particles, and the metallic particles are bonded with the reaction electrode by a metallic bond. In this way, the porous film includes the ceramic particles and the metallic particles to form an irregular surface, and the reaction electrode is adhered to the irregular surface of the porous film in such a manner that the electrode bites into the surface of the porous film. The metallic particles in the irregular surface of the porous film are tightly bonded to the reaction electrode by the metallic bond.

Oxygen sensor element

A tire pressure detecting portion includes a housing, provided within the tire, within which a piezoelectric element is provided so as to be deformed by the tire pressure. The capacitance of said piezoelectric element is changed in accordance with its deformation. The piezoelectric element is electrically connected with a first coil diposed within said tire. The first coil is electromagnetically coupled with an excitation coil and a receiving coil, both of which are provided in the vehicle. The excitation coil provides an excitation voltage whole frequency is changed within a predetermined range including a resonant frequency. When the received voltage has the resonant frequency, a correspondinq tire pressure is determined based on a data map showing the relationship between said resonant frequency and the tire pressure.

Tire pressure detecting apparatus for vehicle

A steering torque is transmitted from a steering wheel side rotary member to a steering shaft side rotary member through a plurality of elastic bodies, when a steering wheel is turned. The elastic bodies are provided around a rotational center of a steering shaft which bending parts. A relative rotation produced between the steering wheel side rotary member and the steering shaft side rotary member is detected by detecting coils, because the detecting coils detect the change of the reluctance of the magnetic circuit of the rotary members and the detecting coil.
